CNN: US Ambassador to China Terry Branstad stepping down as tensions with Beijing rise

Terry Branstad will be stepping down as United States Ambassador to China after more than three years in Beijing, a source confirmed to CNN Monday.

What I heard on the radio was (not some talking head I recognize):

- Most politically appointed ambassadors last 2 or 3 years.
- Branstad is 73
- Branstad can politic now and not run afoul of the Logan act.

We'll see.
