Does The UN's World Food Programme (WFP) Deserve This Year's Nobel Peace Prize?

WNU Editor: I got sick inside when I learned that this year's Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the United Nations World Food Programme. As a former UN worker myself I am too well familiar with the corruption/nepotism/and incompetence of the UN. In the case of the World Food Program, it has a long and sordid history of corruption going back years .... The U.N. Food Programme's Rampant Corruption (Newsweek). But this corruption pales in comparison to numerous recent reports that sexual exploitation and abuse is rife in this organization .... Another UN Entity, Another Sex Scandal (Code Blue). More here .... World Food Program Roiled by Discrimination and Abuse, Survey Finds (Foreign Policy). As I said in the beginning. Giving this prize to an organization that has a long track record of horrendous abuse while doing little if anything to address it .... it is just not right.

Update: Just found this gem .... WFP needs ‘systemic overhaul’ to limit abusive behaviour: external review (The New Humanitarian).

Movies to watch on YouTube, the Gift Horse and Attack on the Iron Coast. Both based on the St. Nazaire raid in WWII.

Anyone, but Trump of course ;)
Maybe give Obama another one for his incredible work and ethical behaviour inside and outside the US... he's been amazing.. no riots, as he was part of the left, no cop shootings, except the few dozen that started under him when he was ok with language and narratives against cupid cops and no scandals.. you know except fast&furious weapons program, the targeting if Republicans through the IRS, the escalation of drone bombings, not closing Guantanamo bay despite running for it, expanding the army footprint while declaring red line to Russia but then not following through but sequesteringy the military while declaring an impotent pivot to Asia, the Bengazi scandal, the gag orders on the press, oh and no attempted coup and weaponisation of the FBI and DOJ to spy on the Trump campaign and then try to overthrow a duly elected president.... none of that happened according to CNN/WaPo/Nytimes... he gets a nobel peace prize, a cool 1man USD price money and the media gets Pulitzer prizes for "in depth reporting on the Russia collusion ", ie participating wilfully and knowingly in aiding and abiding treasonous and criminal acts.

US politics....

No wonder they're close to civil unrest with all of this shit going on and the media colluding

No.

If year after year you are saving people, then you are treating a symptom, not a problem.

You teach a person how to fish, you do not give them fish (except in the short term). If you are always kindly giving aid, then you make that person beholden to you and they have no agency. They are a slave. They might be resentful. They might might overthrow the master, but in the short term they are a slave.

All these places need is stability. No wars. no insurgencies. No corrupt government. After awhile it will sort itself out.
