Gallup Poll Says 56% of Americans Feel That They Are Better Off Now Under President Trump Than Obama/Biden

Summit News: Gallup: Majority Say They Are Better Off Under Trump Than Obama/Biden

Highest number on record. Pollster Gallup has found that a majority of 56% of Americans feel that they are better off now under Donald Trump’s presidency than they were four years ago under Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

The survey recorded the highest number of Americans in history saying that they feel in a better position 4 years into an incumbent’s presidency:

Given that in all but one of the examples above, where the number is much lower than 56%, the incumbent was re-elected, the findings bode very well for Trump.

WNU Editor: I did not expect this poll result. I do not live in the US, but speaking personally, I am definitely better off today than I have ever been. So do many people that I know in Canada, the U.S. and Russia. But I am not blind. I see the store fronts close, the empty offices, and the homeless on the streets. I have been down this road before in Russia in the early 1990s. Bad times are coming for all of us.

Update: President Trump has responded to the Gallup findings in a tweet:

And this result despite the chinese virus! Surprising. Hopefully this is how Americans will vote.

But here's the thing that both Trump and his campaign seem to miss: It is an incredibly damning indictment of Trump personally that, in a country where a majority of the people believe they are better off than they were four years ago, the incumbent President is currently losing badly in his bid for a second term.
What the Gallup numbers suggest is that even though people feel better off than they were at this time in 2016 -- a somewhat remarkable finding given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic -- they don't ascribe that better feeling to Trump and his policies. Or even if they do give Trump credit for feeling "better off" -- usually a measure of economic stability, optimism and well-being -- there are other things they prioritize when it comes to choosing the next president.
(Important note: The Gallup poll was conducted before the first presidential debate -- and Trump's erratic performance. It was also in the field prior to Trump's diagnosis last week with Covid-19.)

Just in:
Trump got a $21 million tax break for saving the forest outside his NY mansion. Now the deal is under investigation. -

Fred do you have asthma? I'm concerned for you bro. You are always breathless, when you report this or that. You should see a doctor.

"Trump got a $21 million tax break for saving the forest outside his NY mansion. Now the deal is under investigation."

When you type "Just in", some of think the _____ is at it again. You don't think we read the news? We'll get this story 4 hours to a day after you, when it is being refuted.

For one the prosecutor is saying he is trying to figure out if the value of the mansion is inflated. So taking the tax deduction is legal in general. So this smells of hard ball political persecution.

A call to the assessor's office will tell the prosecutor what the equalized assessed value (EAV) of the mansion is. Or he could ask a realtor as a double check. He should check 3 different ways. A realtor, insurance agent, or car dealer would.

If I were the real estate tax assessor the 10*EAV (assuming property tax assessment ratio (PTAR) of 1/10th) and the part claimed for deduction purposes should match pretty closely. If you network income tax with property tax division within the state department of revenue, it becomes a mere database query.

I bet most of Trump's neighbors took the same deduction. Is the prosecutor going after them or checking them out?

If the department of revenue ran the query and found variances larger than 5% or 10% between PTAR*EAV and valuation of the mansion claimed for deduction purposes, then the prosecutor would have grounds to open a case and not be accused of favoritism or persecution.

Like you (or at least how claim) Trump has an accountant do his taxes. I bet the accountant checked the law very carefully. The accountant would hang before Trump, but I doubt that will happen

Meanwhile you are breathless. I could recommend several good inhalers or nebulizers, if you are interested.

PS: If you do not like the tax deduction then don't vote greenie weanies into office. This tax deduction has to do with Anthropogenic global warming and you are big believe in that. I bet your hero Al Gore taxes a forest tax deduction for one of his properties.

They didn't give you a tax deduction, when you owned a house did they? Too small they said. But really they have the computer system ti collect and calculate then number of trees you have on your old property. How do I know? Because the state has the ability to collect data on every plumbing fixture you have down to the faucets and on the wall type (wood paneling, painted dry wall, etc.) for every room for every house in the state. Don't believe me? You were in intel check it out. Or network and ask someone; 6 degrees of separation. Or just call.

What is the next exciting development that you will breathlessly tell us about?

"But here's the thing Trump and his campaign seem to miss:...." or perhaps the author of the article misses something. They assume that these polls are accurate and given past history of polling I would be reluctant to casually assume these polls are accurate. Frankly I'm starting to wonder if even they think they are right. They keep bringing them up sort of the Shakespeare character in Hamlet, "thou doest protest much."

The 56% figure may be incorrect as well but does not surprise me. Prior to the COVID-19 panic the US had the best economy it ever had. Many people who had always been poor and had barely been surviving were finally seeing hope for themselves and their families!! They rightly credit the tax cuts and regulatory reforms pushed through by President Trump for allowing this happen. Essentially they provided the hard work and aided by Trump's policies they were beginning to create lives for themselves that had previously been unattainable. Many of these people are still better off and those who aren't remember who was responsible and they also remember who took this away with the ridiculous lockdowns which were among the most brutal in the world.

I don't think Trump and his campaign are "missing." What they are doing is reminding people of whose policies enabled them to improve their lives. Personally I suspect the polls showing Biden's big lead are inaccurate and this one is. Every so often when one misleads they slip up and tell the truth!! Examples: 1.) The WHO admitting that COVID-19 is no worse than the flu. Whoopsie!! There's nothing for them to "clarify." They just did it even if it was accidental. 2.) The Gallup Poll showing 56% of Americans believe they are better off today than they were.

Finally, remember the empty store fronts and offices and the increasing homelessness is largely a result of self inflicted wounds brought about by the unforced error of lockdowns and supporting rioters/looters. While it is always a good idea to prepare for hard times and to be ready for them, it is not set in stone nor does POTUS think it is. Better policies = better results. Hopefully Americans will side with leadership who offers vision of hope and a better future over those who support and push lockdowns and support rioters/looters.

Kind of a piss poor response from an accountant in my opinion.

Dear know it all: that few paragraphs I posted was from a front-page, New article, based on Trump Taxes, in the NY Times. If you read the piece you will see why it is involving an investigation though you claim without any awareness of the issue, that it is a legal deduction! If it were, there would be no investigation.

What precisely do you have an issue with? Perhaps we could discuss it.

Anon (9:30)

I don't think this is addressed to me as I haven't specifically addressed Trump's taxes. I do know from experience that 1.) the tax returns of people like Trump are de facto audited every year, 2.) The IRS Criminal Investigation Division loves the publicity of such cases, 3.)if there were a legal issue with these tax returns they'd have been leaked by now, and 4.) an "Investigation" can be opened at anytime for any reason. Essentially there's nothing illegal about these tax returns. This is political theater and Trump has yet another witch hunt to deal with.

Omg Haha and that's after China's attack with the Wuhan virus AND after the Russia hoax and he's still more popular. And on top he gets maybe 20% of the black American vote. And he just beat covid. And the Nobel peace prize nominations. 3 of them. Fred must frothing that race and gender baiting and lying and the attempted coup against Trump didn't work. Oh no.
