Newsweek: Ireland Becomes First EU Country to Re-Enter Full Lockdown as Europe Battles COVID Second Wave
Amid the ongoing novel coronavirus outbreak, Ireland will implement its highest level restrictions, from midnight on Wednesday. The country is the first European Union country to re-enter a nationwide lockdown, which will be in place for six weeks.
The latest "Level 5" measures, which broadly reflect those imposed during the country's first lockdown in March, require residents to remain home, with all social gatherings banned except in certain circumstances.
"At Level 5, the public health risk means that you will be asked to stay at home, with certain exceptions. There will be no gatherings other than small numbers at funerals and weddings," according to the latest update Tuesday on the government website.

Thank you China
The bill is coming soon
And this time you will pay
Lockdowns didn't work before. One definition of insanity is to try the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.
novel
adjective
1) of a new and unusual kind; different from anything seen or known before:
a novel idea.
2) not previously detected or reported:
Every new corona virus that has a different assortment of proteins and enzymes will be by definition novel.
So, if a politician, a rent seeking doctor, or a rent seeking public health official (who is not a medical doctor) says Novel, we are suppose to fall in line and wait for the Simon says?
What if we corona viruses in general have a 3% or 5% death rate among elderly diabetic since the beginning of time, but we just did not have the PCR or other tech to record it?
Should we lockdown the economy of the world every year?
"Adults typically have two to three infections annually,
and children may have six to ten colds a year (and up to twelve colds a year for school children"
If we average 6 colds per year and one in size colds is corona virus that we can now identify or catalogue as new and thus novel. maybe we should lockdown every year for 6 to 9 months learn yoga and kiss our butts good bye?

"The most commonly implicated virus is a rhinovirus (30–80%), a type of picornavirus with 99 known serotypes.[29][30] Other commonly implicated viruses include human coronaviruses (≈ 15%), influenza viruses (10–15%),[33] adenoviruses (5%),[33] human respiratory syncytial virus (orthopneumovirus), enteroviruses other than rhinoviruses, human parainfluenza viruses, and human metapneumovirus. Frequently, more than one virus is present."

Most people will die of disease. It is inevitable and there is not a damn thing you can do about it.
If you say you will do something about it, liberals and others will smack you and smack you you and tell you to wait for the "Simon Says".
Different organs in you body age at different rates. Which means some type of cell somewhere will cease functioning enough or in total. Since the rest of the cells ion the body are still doing passable judge, the cells that are not working will be judged diseased or a disease.
The upshot is that most everyone will have a disease or co-morbid condition or several before they die.
It is a goal that everyone does not die prematurely, which means that sooner or later that we will have 90% or 100% of people born will live to 65 or older. And most of them will have multiple co-morbid condition. It will be 5% to 10% of the population. They will always be vulnerable. We can't afford to shutdown every year for 10% of the population. We just can't.
Sweden still has no lockdown. If it's death rate is statistically lower or the same as Ireland or other countries, then I say lockdowns are wrong.

The last sentence pretty much nails it. When US leadership first started yapping about this in February, I never thought they would actually be stupid enough or cruel enough to do this. Furthermore the forces of shutdown have never seriously considered other alternatives or even bothered to consult with others to try and find workable solutions. President Trump made a huge mistake when he listened to Fauci. Perhaps he's finally starting to stand up to Fauci's bullying but it may be to late.

Even if the Swedish death rate is statistically higher than Ireland or other countries, that still may not justify lockdowns. Remember the economic devastation caused by lockdowns accompanied with the mental health issues that lead to other health issues are in many cases death themselves. In my observation even if we ceased all lockdowns now the ultimate death toll that they have wrought will far exceed over the next few years any amount the virus ever could or would kill. When confronted with this, the response of cult leader Fauci is that he only an infectious disease expert and these other issues are outside his area of expertise. As the person who had complete control over the federal response from the first of 2020 until the end of May, he should have consulted with mental health experts and leaders in the hospitality and travel industries as equal partners to try and come up with solutions that are workable. Frankly if humans conducted risk assessment and evaluation on everything the way the leadership has on COVID-19 the species would likely be extinct!!
