My Take On Tonight's U.S. Vice-President Debate

Kamala Harris and Mike Pence participate in their vice presidential campaign debate. REUTERS/Lucy Nicholson

WNU Editor: Not a good night for Democrat Vice-Presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Not A good night for her at all. This is the first time that I am seeing her being directly challenged, and she had trouble handling it. Is she up to the job of being President should the Biden-Harris ticket win the Presidency and she finds herself becoming President  a year or two later. Based on what I saw today, the answer is a definite no. But I think this is all moot. Tonight will be remembered for the fly that stayed on Vice-President Pence's head for two minutes, and that one of his eyes was bloodshot.

Not sure that the prediction of what will be remembered will stand. Did not notice bloodshot eye, nor the fly. I noticed what they said and projected subliminally. I often admire and agree with what WNU says, but this time no. Doesn't hold up to scrutiny in my opinion.

I agree with Mr WNU. Even my die hard Dem workmate agreed Ms K was “pawned”... his words.
BTW, the photo show an aircraft carrier. Somehow it seems apt.

I honestly didn't notice Pence's bloodshot eye. Nor did the lefty blogs. The fly I ( and they) did. What EVERYONE noticed was Kamala Harris' immature and annoying demeanor throughout the debate. A head-bobbing smugness that no one relates to.

Pence repeatedly and correctly defined the Harris/Biden ticket for what it is. Since the actual candidate failed to define (or defend) herself.

RussInSoCal said...

/it's pwned.

And didn't Biden have a bad case of blood-shot at a primary debate?

If given a choice of Pence or Harris becoming President using this debate as a reference point. Pence is clearly more prepared and ready to assume the position of President. I personally did not expect him to perform as well as he did.

"Pink eye, also known as conjunctivitis, is a common eye infection that causes symptoms such as redness, swelling, and watering in the affected eye. It typically starts in one eye and may spread to the other eye.

Pink eye has more than one possible cause, but viral and bacterial pink eye are the most common causes. Both are highly contagious. You can spread your symptoms to others through close contact."

www.healthline.com/health/can-i-go-to-work-with-pink-eye#about-pink-eye

Had a pink eye outbreak on cruise ship spread through contact from touching thing s like handrails and doorknobs.

We do not know what Pence has. If he comes down with corona in the next 14 days, then the pink eye being that would be a good guess. If not then obviously it was something else.

Occasionally, news stations and network will cover a subject like this. They use to when 60 minutes or 2020 would do the automobile hidden cams to go after dirty auto repair places about 4 decades ago. Maybe they still do on Good Morning America when reporting a cruise ship noro virus outbreak.

If corona virus spreads like norovirus than masks and social distancing will never really work.

Anonymous said...

"Noroviruses are transmitted directly from person to person (62–84% of all reported outbreaks)[13] and indirectly via contaminated water and food. They are extremely contagious, and fewer than twenty virus particles can cause an infection[14] (some research suggests as few as five).[15] Transmission can be aerosolized when those stricken with the illness vomit, and can be aerosolized by a toilet flush when vomit or diarrhea is present; infection can follow eating food or breathing air near an episode of vomiting, even if cleaned up.[16] The viruses continue to be shed after symptoms have subsided and shedding can still be detected many weeks after infection"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norovirus#Transmission

If corona virus is like norovirus is 14 day quarantine enough? What about quarantining people for 2 months?

If we quarantine enough, we could stop the world form spinning.

Sad fact is that you do a lousy job of skimming too.

(CNN)More Americans said Sen. Kamala Harris did the best job in the vice presidential debate Wednesday night, according to a CNN Instant Poll of registered voters who watched. About 6 in 10 (59%) said Harris won, while 38% said Vice President Mike Pence had the better night.
Those results roughly matched voters' expectations heading into the debate. In interviews conducted before the debate, 61% of those same voters said they expected Harris to win, 36% thought Pence would.

Read the full poll results here

There was a stark gender gap in the results, with women saying Harris did the best job in the debate by a 69% to 30% margin. Men, meanwhile, split about evenly between Harris (48%) and Pence (46%).

Harris did improve her favorability rating among those who watched, according to the poll, while for Pence, the debate was a wash. In pre-debate interviews, 56% said they had a positive view of Harris -- that rose to 63% after the debate. For Pence, his favorability stood at 41% in both pre- and post-debate interviews.
View 2020 presidential election polling
Harris' numbers went up among men (from 49% favorable before to 56% afterward) and women (from 63% favorable before to 70% post-debate), and she even boosted her favorability rating among Trump supporters (from 4% favorable pre-debate to 12% after). Pence's numbers held steady among men and women (50% of men had a favorable view in both pre- and post-debate interviews, among women it was 33% pre-debate and 32% after).
As after the first presidential debate, though, most voters who watched said Wednesday's event hasn't changed their minds about whom to support. Overall, 55% say it had no effect on how they are likely to vote, while those who did choose a side tilted narrowly toward Joe Biden.
Both vice presidential candidates are broadly seen as qualified to be president: 65% said Pence is qualified to serve as commander in chief should that become necessary, 63% said the same of Harris.
Most debate watchers said Harris did the better job defending her running mate (64% Harris to 34% Pence), that she seemed more focused on uniting the country (62% to 34%), was more in touch with the needs and problems of people like you (61% to 38%) and that she expressed her views more clearly (57% to 39%). Most said Pence spent more time attacking his opponent (56%) than thought the same of Harris (36%).

Mike Pence’s Debate Performance Bugged Me Out

He’s numb to pests large and small.

We need to talk about that fly.

It was a fly, wasn’t it? If not, it was a bug doing an ace interpretation of a fly, and about two-thirds of the way through the debate in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night, it took up residence in Vice President Mike Pence’s hair, a smudge of black against a shock of white, where it lingered for a few minutes before undoubtedly realizing that there was warmer, more demonstrably human real estate to be had.

Off it flew, and on Pence droned. He never exhibited any awareness — not the subtlest glance upward, not the slightest flinch or twitch — that his head had been colonized. I first found this strange and then realized it was everything. Pence’s years of obsequiousness to Donald Trump had beaten all sensitivity and capacity for revulsion out of him.

How could he be expected to register or exile an itty-bitty pest when he routinely puts up with a great big one? That fly was some crazy combo of metaphor, visitation and karmic joke.

At this point, Pence is the poster boy for unflappability, an automaton of reflexive kudos for Trump in the key of smarmy. He’s bloodless. He’s ice. Add that constipated half-smile of his and he’s weirdly riveting.

You leave footprints so large and so deep, a blind person could follow your spoor.

First, there was the oh too cute nom de plume, which you used 3 times in the last week.
Second, there is the lack of capitalization of the 1st word and the lack of a period or other
punctuation at the end of a sentence.
Third, there is the condescending tone and illogic.

Your rather poor rhetoric and abysmal grammar is well know by all and sundry readers here.

To top it off you resort to your usual insults and temper tantrum antics of all bold font.

It is rather insulting that you insist you have over $500 in subscription to newspapers and magazines that you don't read. Your lexile score is too low.

PS: What does a self professed Jewish American really see in an anti-Semite like Kamala Harris. Are you self hating, stupid, or something else?

After violence directed at Jews Trump has met with Jewish leaders, denounced anti-Semitism in no uncertain terms. Democrats like Kamala have snubbed Jewish leaders and demanded that Trump denounce anti-Semitism while cavorting and snuggling up to anti-Semites.

The Democrat party is accurately represented by Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Linda Sarsour, Louis Farahkhan and yet you are going to vote Democrat. That is just schizophrenic.

The signatories included Booker and Senator Kamala Harris.'

When the Black extremists shot up a Kosher (i.e. Jewish) grocery store "New Jersey Democrat officials initially denied that the Farrakhan supporter who led the attack was motivated by antisemitism"

Senator Cory Booker (D) never met with Jewish community leaders about the Jersey City murders.

Kamala Harris denies Black Supremacists exist.

Black Supremacists murder Jews and she denies that they exist.

But ersatz Jew is going to vote Democrat. In what sane world does that make sense?

"Telemundo Deletes Twitter Poll following VP Debate After Kamala Gets CRUSHED by Pence 74% to 26%

It was very clear last night that Democrat Kamala Harris got crushed by Vice President Mike Pence in the vice presidential debate.

This was despite the liberal moderator and the slanted questions that were all in her favor.
The difference was Kamala Harris was forced by Pence to explain to the American public the Democrat Party’s true intentions and plans for the country.
Less freedom, more job loss, more government control, stacking the courts, trillions in lost revenue and millions of lost jobs.

Following the debate Telemundo News posted a poll on Decision 2020 — “Who won the debate?”

Pence mopped the floor with Kamala winning 76% to 24%.

This was too much for the hacks at Telemundo so they deleted the poll.
It’s gone."

Now here is the right leaning Rasmussen poll:

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for Harris if both major party presidential nominees dropped out of the race. Forty-five percent (45%) would choose Vice President Pence instead. But it’s important to note that this survey was taken before last night’s vice presidential debate. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Four years ago, Pence beat Democrat vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine 41% to 35% when voters were given the presidential option.

A militia group planned to violently depose Michigan’s government and abduct Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), the FBI said in a federal affidavit filed Thursday.

"Several members talked about murdering 'tyrants' or 'taking' a sitting governor," an FBI agent wrote in the affidavit, obtained by the Detroit News. "The group decided they needed to increase their numbers and encouraged each other to talk to their neighbors and spread their message."

Federal prosecutors plan to make a fuller statement on the alleged plot later Thursday, according to the newspaper.

At least six men have been charged in connection with the alleged plot, identified as Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta, according to the affidavit.

"How people began career used here to slime them,"

Pointing out that the 2nd presidential debate moderator was a Joe Biden intern is not sliming them. It is pointing out a potential conflict of interest. From what we have seen of moderators is that they are leftwingers and that has kept them from being objective.

It has been glaringly obvious since 2012 and Eye Candy Crowley coming to the rescue of Obama. Obama was beaten in the 1st debate. He was on his way to losing the 2nd debate and then Sir Crowley rode to Obama's rescue.

Between Crowley's flank attack to relieve Obama and Obama's like that the 90s want their foreign policy back. Obama won.

About the 90's wanting their foreign policy back. Who is the big shithead here that keep bleating up the Russia? Some educated due with piss poor grammar.

2012 Russia is no problem.
2016 Russia is the biggest problem.

And Dr. Whom has no shame and no brains.

Candy Crowley did eventually say that Romney was "right in the main."

"Crowley later admitted that Romney was "right in the main" in his comments."

So you look like a arch-liberal wing nut, when you post:

"fred sez: I dislike the debates. period. the first debate run by Fox guy. the vp debate from USA lady. How people began career used here to slime them, ie debate lady an intern."

Susan Rice was not seriously considered as presidential candidate or a VP contender, because she said Benghazi was over an unwatched film.

Susan Rice, Obama and all of them refused to label the Fort Hood shooting terrorism but instead used the euphemism of work place violence. It does not hurt the politicos to fuck over the victims and preventing them from getting full compensation so long as their career in politics is protected.

Fred, would you tell the victims of the Fort Hood shootings that it was work place violence and not terrorism to their faces? I think you would, if you got applause form the right quarters.

From Candy Crowley to ultra-lib Wallace to Biden's intern it is all rigged and all lib.

FRED,

You realize that Mr. Rassmussen has not worked at the company that bears his name for 7 years?

Perhaps not. You are not one for facts, numerical analysis or objective truth.

"Rasmussen's polling in the 2000 and 2012 U.S. presidential elections has been criticized by polling watchers as highly inaccurate while the company's performance in the 2004 and 2008 presidential elections was credited for its accuracy."

It was noted that they got 2018 house race wrong. When considering that 7 seats flipped in California after recounts and every recount went the Democrat's way. California is the fraud capital of the US; I would say Rassmussen was right. Polling does not take into account massive fraud.
