President Trump Will 'Immediately Fire' FBI, CIA Directors, And Defense Secretary Mark Esper If Reelected

FBI Director Christopher Wray and CIA Director Gina Haspel

If President Trump wins re-election, he'll move to immediately fire FBI Director Christopher Wray and also expects to replace CIA Director Gina Haspel and Defense Secretary Mark Esper, two people who've discussed these officials' fates with the president tell Axios.

The big picture: The list of planned replacements is much longer, but these are Trump's priorities, starting with Wray. Wray and Haspel are despised and distrusted almost universally in Trump's inner circle. He would have fired both already, one official said, if not for the political headaches of acting before Nov. 3.

WNU Editor: US Presidents when elected usually have a list already prepared to put loyalists in cabinet and other senior government positions on Day One of their Presidency. President Trump had a list, but when I reflect upon it, it certainly did not include people who were loyal to him and his agenda. After four years in the White House I suspect that he now does have a list of loyal people, and and I am sure he will be putting them in these government positions after the election. Axios list on who would be fired does not surprise me. I have mentioned more than once on this blog that FBI Director Christopher Wray, CIA Director Gina Haspel, and Defense Secretary Mark Esper will be gone in the second term of a Trump Presidency.

Update #2: Trump's execution list: President will immediately fire 'FBI Director Christopher Wray, CIA Director Gina Haspel, Defense Secretary Mark Esper AND a long line of senior officials' if he wins the White House (Daily ail).

No wonder their intelligence network is in complete shambles when you have previous and current Presidents favoring political loyalties over competence, which is not to say that such competency has been fielded by the current posts, but if you keep changing these posts, then you are left with nothing.

Trump tried to buy loyalty by not putting in campaign contributors but instead by hiring in house and also 4 or 5 generals initially. It did notwork out. No loyalty whatsoever only conniving and backstabbing.

The State Department employees always complain, when Republican or Democrat president gives 1/3rd of the ambassadorships to contributors. The nation would have been much better of with a campaign contributor instead of Masha as ambassador to the Ukraine.

WE might have got through this without impeachment, Hunter sex tapes, or the rest. Worse is to come.

Director of CIA or FBI is an administrative/leadership job. You don't have to be steeped in the technical aspects since graduating form college.

You do have to honest, a capable administrator, etc.

Christopher Wray has never done any FBI field work.

Mueller was never an FBI field agent. He did honorable service in Vietnam and was a prosecutor and attorney.

You could pick many attorney who have had federal service or maybe attorney from private practice. There does not seem to be any requirement for field work.

And to prove it, if Biden gets elected, we'll probably end up with a George Soros city or state attorney for FBI Director.

What were Leon Panettas quals for CIA director and Sec Def? 2 years of intel as a JO. The rest was as congressman and OMB.

If Panetta is the standard then why hire from in house? to make peace with people won't make peace with you?

It is obvious that Gina Haspel was a bad hire. It's good points politically was that it was in house and she was a woman. It bad point is that she was from the London Station where all the crap went down in the Russian hoax. Maybe Trump had or has plans for her in a 2nd administration? Maybe he was practicing keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Certainly, Haspel qualifies as an enemy.

Axios has been awfully busy lately.

Are their journalists that good or are they being fed that well?

I suspect the latter. I also suspect that the motive is not news, but to shape opinion of younger voters.
