The population of Russia is predicted to drop by 352,500 people this year, and could be reduced by a total of 1.2 million come 2024.
The latest figures are a major revision of the 2020 dip of only 158,000 projected in August.
According to Moscow daily Izvestia, which obtained a government forecast, the reduction in Russian residents will be much more severe than previously thought.
The only time the country saw a larger drop was 2006, when the figures fell by 373,900.

WNU Editor: No one wanted children in Russia in the 1990s. But it was not only the economic crisis that discouraged families from having children. The Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986, followed by reports of increases in child birth defects and health problems, put a real fear in many families to not have children. Two of my cousins had kids during this time (1989 and 1991), and both had health and immune problems for the first years of their lives.

Russia will be annexed by China, everyone knows it
An ancient map will be found, deals will be made
You've got a shrinking population and China will be 2in strong when you'll be less than 80mn, nukes won't help you, only the west can :P
Also, covid-29 will be aimed at Russia lol you fools China is coming for your vast lands
Russia will be begging for Murica to save them.
Land in Siberia was part of China during the last dynasty.
It is the ancestral land of the people that founded the last Chinese dynasty.
So...
If you live next to China, don't invade it and certainly do not conquer it or after your dynasty falls, you will be counter-conquered.
It is said that the Muslim Caliphs had no desire to invade Persia proper after taking Iraq. They were so rich they just wanted to be left alone. But Persian Armies kept coming at them until they decided they had to strike back. They go as far as the Central Asian Republics and bet the Chinese at Talas in 751 AD.
China Proper has been successfully invaded at least 2 or 3 times from Manchuria.
China Proper has been invaded successfully from Mongolia once unless you count innumerable smaller states set up by nomads during Warring Periods.
The Burmese invaded China Proper.
I don't think the Tibetans invade China, but only because the Burmese Empire was in the way.
The Uighurs caused problems for a Chinese dynasty of foreign extraction. As a result the Uighurs and Tibetans were conquered.
Just some history.
Kinda surprising. Numbers weren't just static, they fell.
1122: that's normal in most industrialised nations where women enter the workforce and immigrants do not support enough growth. Same thing happens in much of Europe. The UA is growing because they have an abundance of annual immigration. As soon as the birth rate falls below the replacement rate it's starting.
