To Replace America's ICBM Inventory Will Cost $111 Billion

A Minuteman III missile was test launched from Launch Facility 04. The missile traveled approximately 4200 miles in twenty minutes to the Kwajalein Missile Range in the Marshall Islands. The test is conducted to prove the reliability of land based nuclear missiles. Location: VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, CALIFORNIA (CA) UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA) Camera Operator: MASTER SGT. The Pentagon’s next generation intercontinental ballistic missile program could cost U.S. taxpayers as much as $110.6 billion, according to internal Defense Department estimates, adding to a wave of big-ticket nuclear weapons programs slated for the years ahead.

Ellen Lord, the Pentagon’s undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment, approved the ICBM program going forward and supported the purchase of 659 missiles -- 25 for initial testing and 634 for silos, spares and later testing, according to a Sept. 21 report obtained by Bloomberg News that was marked “Unclassified/For Official Use Only.”

The new estimate includes a $13 billion contract Northrop Grumman Corp. received in September to start full-scale development and eventual production of missiles intended to replace the aging Minuteman III system, the land-based portion of the U.S. nuclear triad.

The Air Force and the Pentagon’s independent cost assessment office project the missile program alone -- not including the nuclear warheads they’ll carry -- will cost between $93.1 billion and $95.8 billion. That is up from a preliminary $85 billion Pentagon forecast in 2016.

The US should not have nuclear weapons, since it is a Banana Republic. The corruption has gone beyond the usual sundry corruption and is of banana republic, military coup magnitude of corruption.

Russ,

7:41 here. I just see a lot of winning by corrupt Democrats is all. I believe they have a 35% not 70% chance to all of their corruption.

You don't think Keith Ellison the former Congressman and now MN AG won't cover for the corrupt Ilhan?

Newsome is going along with all the corruption in California. He grew up near poor, but it was all hos father's doing for continually giving away the family's money. Now Gavin takes it out on all of us. I noticed that Gavin hooked up with a very rich millionaire and took good care of him and thus became a millionaire himself. But he dd not give away his money like his father did.

Gavin is no dumby, but he is not smart enough in enough areas to understand the shit he is pulling will not work.

I appreciate that response. But it has no connection to the silly comment you wrote previously.

I will resist a marxist banana republic reality being forced onto the US for as long as I am able.

Its not to say that there are many US politicians who would be perfectly happy in a 3rd World State. But they will have to accomplish that over my active resistance.

What how Gavin Newsome and other Democrats operate look very much like a Banana Republic to me.

What gets me is that The Feds could be investigating voter fraud and the California Secretary of State tells them to pound sand.

The 1st linked article was more of the same. Democrat statewide office holder made a huge add buy, which is supposed to have oversight and no one knows nothing. It is a get out the vote ad, but you know there will be a partisan slant to it. That is what set me off.

You get that fucking troll who will occasionally post that Hillary won the popular vote by 2 or 3 million. They don't say how much was illegals voting,

And again when the Feds investigate the illegal voting they are stonewalled. Then you get people like Fred saying you never shown illegal voting on any scale. And that twerp will adhere to that line of argument knowing damn well his side does not want to investigate and will prevent other from investigating.

Here is the thing that kills Democrats. You can't juggle when you pick favorites (Rob Peter to pay Paul). In politics you need to juggle a little. You kill off mass immigration until we get poverty south of 5% and Democrats won't be able to play people off against each other.
