The 25th Amendment outlines the transfer of power to the vice president if a president is removed, incapacitated or dies.
WASHINGTON — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., plans to introduce legislation Friday that would create a "Commission on Presidential Capacity," which would be involved in presidential transfer of power procedures under the 25th Amendment.
The legislation would create the commission "to help ensure effective and uninterrupted leadership in the highest office in the Executive Branch of government," Pelosi's office said in a news release.
Pelosi will hold a news conference on the bill with Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., at the Capitol Friday morning, the release said. Raskin, a constitutional law expert, introduced a similar measure in a previous Congress.

This is not new.
It might have alarmed people last fall through January, but them people thought, If they get Trump put , we get Pence in and they still lose.
At that point people were no longer alarmed or scared. They were just contemptuous and pissed off.
This really won't affect Republican turnout or Trump's base IMO. It has to be a play for moderate/independents and riling up her nutter base fro donations and turn out.
We;ve caught too many Democrat politicians without masks.

We have the Pennsylvania governor on hot mic saying it is theater.
We have the NYC mayor out for a stroll early on, when he insisted everyone stay indoors.
Putting on my futurist hat (sneer of you must), I see the flu surveillance people checking for influenza, rhino and corona virus all at the same time, when monitoring for future respiratory outbreaks. Not much of a prediction. Professionals are probably already trying to work that out in their budgets and with logistics.
It will make a difference when they find out how many types of viruses people typically have, what their respective viral loads are and if one type of virus is primarily responsible for a persons death or if it is sort of a tag team effort. By collecting these statistics, it is gong to color the perception of historians on the politicians of this year. That knowledge will also constrain I think future lockdown happy politicians.
I never paid much attention to it, but Trump Derangement Syndrome might just be real.
Well...it's getting damned tedious. This country needs legislative input and we get this. Over and over for years now.
