Commentaries, Analysis, And Editorials -- November 20, 2020

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden (left) and Russian President Vladimir Putin appeared to talk past each other.

Matthew Rojansky and Michael Kimmage, CNN: Joe Biden's oncoming headache over Vladimir Putin

(CNN)A Russian leader has already congratulated US President-elect Joe Biden on winning the presidential election. "I have met with him several times," said Mikhail Gorbachev, the former president of the Soviet Union, on Nov. 8. "I got the impression that he understands the importance of relations with Russia. I hope that Joe Biden will strive to normalize relations and recover trust between our countries."

Contrast these generous sentiments with the brooding silence that has emanated from the Kremlin's current occupant since the US presidential election was called for Biden. Soon, Biden will assume the US presidency — and with it, the headache of dealing with Vladimir Putin's Russia.

My biggest fear is that Biden is on the payroll of China. Dark days are ahead of the USA, but we deserve it for electing this doddering corrupt man.

The so called "headache" in dealing with Putin need not be. Depending upon which Forbes analysis is consulted Putin is either the most powerful or second most powerful person in the world. This likeky extends to the country he leads as well. Acknowledge this and act accordingly. In doing so, good things are possible. Obviously we aren't going to agree on everything and will need to be prepared to vigorously represent our interests. In doing so, ignoring reality achieves nothing but bad endings.

I noticed that the article takes a passing shot at Russian interference in the 2016 election. Sufficient evidence to support this was never presented. Ihink this was an invention of HRC and the Democrats and bow they believe their own lies. What's more this was used to justify sanctions and sanctions are an act of war. Team Biden may not only need to "forgive" but may need to be prepared to lift such sanctions, make amends, and ask for forgiveness himself. The article also accuses Russia of not being Democratic without providing any evidence that elections are rigged.

Such is the way with the US media as an arn of the Democrat party. They should remember that provocative actions against foreign countries will have repercussions so there better be a good reason for them and the government needs to spell it out to the American people.

Finally to often our government screws up by acting as though America is some sort of "superpower." We aren't. If team Biden and the rest of the US government would cease acting stupidly in this manner, this would go a long way towards defusing tensions wirh Russia and a number of other countries.

"We deserve it for electing this doddering corrupt man." I'm not convinced we did. It seems clear that were systemic irregularities that benefited the Democrat candidate. Was it enough to alter the outcome, can it be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, and if it can be can it be done before inauguration day? Besides that I think we who did not vote for this vile man deserve to suffer alongside those who did. Besides many people aren't fortunate enough to have the time or intellect to be able to sort through this. They do not deserve to suffer either for this.

For what it's worth, I think team Trump is focused on 2022 and 2024 and what they are doing now is laying the groundwork for this. I think they've largely given up on 2020.
