America's situation is unique in the history of the world. Our borders are wide open. The so called "wall" has only minimal effect at best. Our borders and points of entry at the ports, the land borders, and the airports remain wide open. It's a ridiculous joke!!
"In The Middle Of A Pandemic Millions Of Americans Will Still Travel For Thanksgiving"
Maybe because this disease effects only shut in or very ill elderly. By shut-ins I mean elderly who do not get exercise, sun, or fresh air.
It is a plandemic, where a person reading the newspapers learn the names of nursing homes by heart just as they learned the names of the 50 state capitals or grade school. You learn that maybe living in a retirement with LTC facilities inside the same building is convenient for you, for the staff and for any bug, especially a respiratory bug.
So you obey the governor;s edict - strike that - you obey a goober;s edict - and do not visit your elderly relatives or friends at their LTC. So you are doing that distancing thing. All good right? But they still die from COVID. I mean no relatives visits the LTC because plandemic. Yet several or a few dozen people in the facility die. What went wrong?
The respiratory illness is just been bouncing around between staff and patients. In addition to it bouncing around that tight knit community, COVID has to be in the HVAC or as fomites on surfaces.
Water is the enemy of COVID, because it has the ability to deform, warp, or otherwise ruin the lipid envelope of COVID. Question is what is the relative humidity of the nursing homes in Late December through February. I bet those LTC or warm. They are going to keep those puppies at 70 to 75 degrees. Note that HVAC has the word conditioning in it. People usually think about heating, cooling, ventilating (moving the air), bringing in fresh air, and filtering out dust and pollen, but they usually dismiss regulating the humidity. Some do. But a larger percentage of the population does not. They do not regard it as important, do not have the money, or it is just down the list of priorities.
Dry air is a double whammy. It is more than just nose bleeds. It has been posited that dry air causes the white blood cells to not be able to be as near to the surface of the nasal passages as possible and thus allow viruses a beach head. Also there is the fact that viruses with lipid envelopes apparently do better in dry air than humid air.
Question is what will be the relative humidity inside buildings in the depth of winter when the air is very dry?
It is a good question, because many people in LTC do not get out much anyway summer or winter. The air temperature is not making them weaker. They do not experience cold air. It is not the air temperature but the humidity.
LTC facilities are concentrated. What is R naught in a LTC facility? You can model general populations. Duck Soup. But have LTC facilities been modeled. They say when predators like wolves or lions or cheetahs hunt, they generally go after the young, the weak, the sick, and the old. Everyone knows that. So a nursing home is a trifecta. It has sick, weak and old people. It is a smorgasboard laid out for opportunistic pathogens. So what is R naught for a TC facility?
Eventually some asymptomatic person, a staff member, will get in.
We need to focus our resources to protect hospitals and nursing homes not shut down the economy.
There is loose talk among people with low morals about mandating mask year round even after this winter after COVID 109 dies out. There will be another strain of COVID or influenza going around or making a repeat appearance, so we must combat it.
People like Gtretchen have too much fin.
CDC has no credibility. They are just a bloated bureaucracy staffed by Democraps who are trying to manipulate the US public. Fuck them!
and so Rodger, you have the answer, like Pence/Trump to fixing the nation and its pandemic. Please share with us
