Michèle Flournoy Will Probably Be Biden's Choice To Be His U.S. Defense Secretary

(Erin Scott/Center for a New American Security)

WASHINGTON — On June 20, 2016, then-Vice President Joe Biden delivered keynote remarks at an event hosted by the Center for a New American Security, the think tank founded and, at that point, led by Michèle Flournoy.

Flournoy introduced Biden, praising him as a national security thinker and noting the ties between his staff at the White House and CNAS.

Biden, in turn, acknowledged the little-kept secret of the defense world: that Flournoy was in line to become the first woman to serve as defense secretary under President Hillary Clinton. “Well, madam secretary,” Biden said with a laugh as the crowd applauded. “I’m writing a recommendation for her, you know.”

The Clinton administration never materialized, following the election of President Donald Trump. But four years later, president-elect Biden is widely expected to fulfill his promise and tap Flournoy to lead the U.S. military.

Michèle Flournoy is 60.

What I d not like about her, is she along with others pushed Obama to invade Libya.

List of people who persuaded Obama to invade Libya.

Samantha Power
Michèle Flournoy
President of France Sarkozy
Italian PM Berlusconi

From Wikipedia

While serving under the Clinton Administration as a deputy assistant secretary of defense, Flournoy assisted in drafting the 1997 Quadrennial Defense Review, which in a post Cold War era "determined U.S. forces must be capable of fighting and winning two major theater wars nearly simultaneously."

Public policy research
She then joined the Institute for National Strategic Studies at the National Defense University (NDU) as a research professor, founding and leading NDU's Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) working group, which had been chartered by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to develop intellectual capital in preparation for the Defense Department’s upcoming QDR in 2001.

So if and when the Joe cuts the defense budget and the QDR is meaningless, will Michèle Flournoy protest against Joe like Esper protested against Trump?

I am not convinced this is over. Take out the swing states, and give the two obvious one to Trump. That would would him in the lead. I think you’ve got this one wrong WNU. Trump not conceding is telling me that he is not convinced either.

Every one who has lived in a state outside of its major metropolitan area, knows that the metro are dominates that state even, if it is a 50/50 split. Tax revenues do not get split up 50/05.

So Philly dominate PA. And Democrats dominate Philly. Which is okay of you got the votes fair and square and play somewhat nice.

But every damn election there is a problem in the big city with polling places, where poll watchers are routinely stiff armed. You know every damn time there is election theft.

Hopefully it's Flournoy. Duckworth is a disaster. She may have been in the military but she is a yutz of first order

She got picked by Blogavitch for a state commission.

"On November 21, 2006, several weeks after losing her first congressional campaign, Duckworth was appointed Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs by Governor Rod Blagojevich."

At that point you knew she was being groomed.

Duckworth has warts. She must have went to the Klobuchar school of Charm and Integrity.

In 2009, two Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs employees at the Anna Veterans' Home in Union County filed a lawsuit against Duckworth.[35] The lawsuit alleged that she wrongfully terminated one employee and threatened and intimidated another for bringing reports of abuse and misconduct of veterans when she was head of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.[36] Duckworth was represented in the suit by the Illinois Attorney General's office.[37] The case was dismissed twice but refilings were allowed.[38][39] The case settled in June 2016 for $26,000 with no admission of wrongdoing.[38] The plaintiffs later indicated they no longer wanted to settle, but the judge gave them 21 days to sign the settlement and canceled the trial

"At the 2020 convention she called President Trump "coward-in-chief" for not supporting the American military."

Biden will break bread with Tehran and they will still target our troops in Syria.

"Duckworth voted against Senator Bernie Sanders's amendment to reduce the $740 billion National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021."

I guess you can support the US military by giving the troops broomsticks to march with?
