I too worked at the polls of a Federal election in Canada and I agree with your assessment. We finished counting all the ballots at our station in about 1.5 hours. It blows my mind what is happening in the States.
First world country, third world election system...
So Canada is the shining city on the hill?
We should bomb them while bombing Iran and committing war crimes in Syria and Iraq and Yemen.
My workmate (chap I sit next to) helped do the same in NZ's recent elections. He too couldn't fathom why the USA used this incredibly compromised and cumbersome way of doing things - and he's a Biden supporter.
I really do feel sorry for the people of the United Sates, they deserve better, no matter which side of the fence they sit on.
