With control of the Senate unclear, liberal Democrats are trying to figure out how to achieve their policy goals through the White House.
They have an extensive blacklist for possible Biden appointees they do not like. They want to elevate allies like Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont to premier government posts. And they are even considering the possibility of bypassing Senate approval to fill executive branch roles.
As progressives have watched the Senate potentially slip out of reach this week, they have begun preparing to unleash a furious campaign to pressure President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. over personnel and priorities — even as they wrestle with the results of the election and the possible need to be more realistic about expectations over the next two years.
“For those of us who focus on governance and economic and social justice, this election is a dismal rubber stamp of the unacceptable status quo,” said Larry Cohen, the chairman of Our Revolution, a progressive group. “Black, brown and white working Americans see their hopes of real reform evaporate for now, even while cheering the victory over Trump.”

Warren is a political grifter.
And it's just the beginning... we have to be prepared for worse. The failure will not come immediately, but it will come anyway.
I strongly encourage Biden to pack his cabinet with frothing progressives. I encourage him to install every unbalanced, bulge-eyed socialist that he can lay his hands on.
With the House sitting with a much smaller majority and likely to flip in the next mid-term. Which shocked the Dems. And with the GOP actually picking up 2 State Legislatures, the GOP will happily draw district boundaries advantageous to them.
I hope they go hog wild. Which is likely because Dems are totally incapable of checking themselves.
(And thank God Trump has given us a sane SCOTUS and populated the lower courts with conservative, traditionalist judges.)

Agreed, Russ. The supreme court is going to protect the Constitution for awhile.
As for the likes of E. Warren, bring her on. And all the other sandbox gang. The sooner the country gets it's fill of their beliefs as they watch their upward mobility slow and stop and in some cases fall backwards the better.
Back to the downhill slide that commenced with obamma, was offset with Trump, and will recommence with good old enfeebled joe.
