Saudi Arabia's Minister Of State For Foreign Affairs Says Won't Rule Out Developing Nuclear Weapons If Iran Does

Adel al-Jubeir said the kingdom would take any measures to protect its territories [Mohamed Abd el-Ghany/Reuters]

Saudi Arabia reserves the right to arm itself with nuclear weapons if regional rival Iran cannot be stopped from making one, the kingdom’s minister of state for foreign affairs has said.

“It’s definitely an option,” Adel al-Jubeir told the DPA news agency in a recent interview.

If Iran becomes a nuclear power, he said, more countries would follow suit.

“And Saudi Arabia has made it very clear, that it will do everything it can to protect its people and to protect its territories.”

WNU Editor: I see this more as a message to the incoming Joe Biden administration to not engage with Iran.

Saudi Arabia has nuclear capable missile bought for the Chinese. Saudi Arabia has their own version of Los Alamos. If the Saudis already had enough fissile material for several bombs, it would not surprise me due to Brennan's piss poor track record.

Brennan acted more Obama's black bag FBI guy than a world class spy chief.
