The prospect of a détente between Washington and Havana rekindles memories of the thaw that Biden helped champion during the Obama administration, when the two nations restored diplomatic ties that had been broken for decades following Fidel Castro’s rise to power.
President-elect Joe Biden’s team plans to bring the US closer to normalized relations with Cuba, reversing many of the sanctions and regulations imposed during the Trump administration, according to people familiar with the matter.
That strategy includes reducing restrictions on travel, investment and remittances for the island nation that are perceived to disproportionately hurt Americans and ordinary Cubans, said the people, who requested anonymity because the new administration is still coming together. Other measures that target Cuba for human rights abuses would remain in place, the people said.

WNU Editor: I have always been baffled on American progressives having this soft spot for the Communist regime in Cuba. The Cuban regime has brought misery to so many Cubans for so many decades that you would think that American liberals and progressives would walk away.. But no. That is why I do expect the removal of U.S. sanctions and restrictions on Cuba to happen quickly. And after Cuba, I do expect a new U.S. policy towards Venezuela starting with the removal of some sanctions.

We have had continuous microwave attacks against US Embassy staff. It has been bad enough that it has been asked what Obama or Trump have done about it. ]
the same people excoriating Trump for the attacks are the same people who want to go back. The attacks happened under Obama too and Obama was nice to them. He even whispered sweet nothings into Castro's ears and blew smoke up his ass.
It has been pointed out that some of the allure is that Castro and Che took some good photographs at one time. Support is for Castro is based on something so shallow among other things.
The number of black political prisoners in Cuban jails is astounding. And yet you never see jackass Holder utter the words disparate impact!

Biden has been too corrupt to lead the nation, since at least 2008.

DOJ has already spent something like 4 US Attorney years investigating Hunter Biden and has yet to charge him with a single crime; while it remains to be seen whether the tax charges are real, at some point an investigation will butt up against the reality that even the politicized Scott Brady one did: most of the allegations against Hunter Biden are the product of very frothy conspiracy theorizing and aggressive disinformation that straight reporters are not obliged to adopt.

* Comey's FBI let Huma Abedin and Hillary smash Blackberries and hard drives. It would make it harder to prove somethings, but they did not get charged with obstruction of justice.

Johnson's recognition of bitter feelings comes as he moved toward acceptance of the presidential election results.
"I haven’t seen anything that would convince me that the results, the overall national result, would be overturned," Johnson told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Tuesday. He added that he has no plans to object to Congress accepting the Electoral College count, saying that "something would have to surface that would call into question the legitimacy of the election."
But Johnson said that Biden winning 306 Electoral College votes should not take away from the importance of his Wednesday hearing on irregularities in the 2020 election.
"This hearing should not be controversial," Johnson said Wednesday. "A large percentage of the American public does not believe the November election results are legitimate. This is not a sustainable state of affairs in our democratic republic."
