China Becomes The Second Nation To Plant A Flag On The Moon

 * China's space authority published the image of the flag on the moon on Friday
 * It was attached to spacecraft Chang'e-5 which left the lunar surface on Thursday
 * Only America's Apollo missions have raised national flags on the moon before
 * Rivalry in space comes amid growing tensions over Covid-19, trade and security
 * China aims to bring lunar samples back to Earth for the first time in 40 years

China has flown its flag on the moon in a symbolic display of its intentions to compete with the US in space, 51 years after America first planted its colours on the lunar surface.

The flag was attached to Beijing's spacecraft Chang'e-5 which is making its way back to Earth with the first lunar samples in decades after taking off from the moon on Thursday.

Beijing's space authority released the picture of the fabric flag, weighing 0.4 ounces, holding still on the windless lunar surface and evoking memories of the Stars and Stripes which were once the crowning symbol of US supremacy in the space race.

WNU Editor: Just wondering why it took so long for China to accomplish this.

It isn't easy. There are a number of reports that suggest the US faked its moon landings. I do NOT believe them. Of course if such reports are true then China is the first country to achieve this unless there's a Russian flag or other flag on the moon that I missed somehow.

The US brand has been "Democracy." Now that the presidential election has been stolen from the voters and such people are poised to steal the GA Senate from the people the government will need to reinvent themselves if the US is to stay remotely relevant. What shall they do??

Suggestion: China has "dirt" on Hunter Biden. Go to war against China to protect Hunter and the Biden family name. Of course no "allies" will support this. Do it anyway!! Hunter's honor must be protected!! The lives of tens of millions of Americans in an unwinnable war don't matter!!! Neither Hunters name nor the family honor will be saved anyway.

The best bet for America would be to somehow prevent a Biden Administration. Prayerfully this will be the case.

Speaking of losers look who's here!

We'll have to disagree, I like Poster's commentary.

Lets clear something up here, China planted a flag using robotic means (probably stolen from us or the Russkies). The United States planted a flag using live humans. There is a big difference,.

If you're going to call me a "loser," it helps if you point out the flaws in the argument. Bottom line: with so many systemic irregularities in thr election team Biden needs to prove they didn't benefit or no one will trust them.

Anyway that veered off topic. Anyway Stephen is essentially correct, however, I wouldn't blithely assume China stole the tech from someone.

Was the Chinese flag made in China?

"Was the Chinese flag made in China?" That's a good question. While we may never "know" the answer, based upon observation and prior experience we can make inferences. When this is imbibed with sound judgement, we usually get the right answers.

The Chinese unlike we Americans have generally been smart enough not to outsource their manufacturing. On answe to the question, I'd estimate a 99.999999999% probability the flag was made in China.
