One out of every 1,000 Americans has died of COVID-19 as the coronavirus continues to run rampant throughout the country while one top medical expert fears that the public is hesitant to take the newly approved vaccinations.
The latest data from Johns Hopkins University indicated on Saturday that the COVID-19 death toll in the United States reached 331,116 people.
The grim milestone coincides with figures from the Census Bureau which found that as of the last week of December, the total population of the US stood at around 330,750,000.

The biggest reason for hesitancy is the "Liberals" hollering you couldn't trust the vaccine, while they also wanted to be first in line to get vaccinated.
Florida IS open and it's California with the most draconian lockdown that's producing the big numbers. Nationwide the hospitals are not overwhelmed.

The LA Times article " Holidays create viral wildfire" actually says their might or possibly be a surge of cases. Quite a difference from the headline.
TX is largely open as well yet it is CA that is experiencing the biggest surge. Nationwide hospitals aren't overwhelmed, not even close, never were, and are unlikely to ever be.
There have been isolated exceptions to this. In such a situation certain economic restrictions might be warranted on a case by case basis and only until the crisis is contained.

I am from TX. Actually I'm from Conroe which is about 40 miles north of Houston. Tgis is all easily verified. I've provided my contact infornatiin here numerous times.
Notice I did NOT say all is well. This is a very serious disease and, while some are more vulnerable than others, for anyone to think they are immune is hubris. The point I was making ties into what 1:58 was making. Both FL and TX are largely open and are doing far better right now even adjusting for population than CA is who is still suffering under extremely draconian restrictions. Please note the operative words are "right now." I remember when European officials were raking us over the proverbial coals over this. They now seem to be collectively struggling with this just as much as we are.
Furthermore lock downs don't work. This should be apparent by now. TX and FL are currently experiencing fewer cases than CA all without the lock downs. I'll take tge TX and FL approaches over that of CA any day. I'll reiterate what I've said before. Lock downs were the worst mistake we've ever made.
Until either enough people get vaccinated or the pandemic runs it's course we will be running at elevated risks for awhile. We in TX and apparently FL as well as many others are learning to work with this. Remember the cure cannot be worse than the disease.
With few exceptions such as El Passo TX hospitals have not faced acrusk of being overrun except perhaps by fear porn. That's not to say it couldn't happen. In such cases, the implementation of any economic restrictions will be handled on a case by case basis until the crisis is resolved. In my considered opinion, this us tge proper approach to a very difficult situation.
ZMy death statisitics are from a source that is up to date. Citing Wikipedia for up to date stuff is nuts. You will have to show me page and day for NY Times to believe what you claim is death in Texas. That is simply wrong
