WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump on Wednesday vetoed the sweeping defense bill that authorizes a topline of $740 billion in spending and outlines Pentagon policy.
“Unfortunately, the Act fails to include critical national security measures, includes provisions that fail to respect our veterans and our military’s history, and contradicts efforts by my administration to put America first in our national security and foreign policy actions,” Trump wrote in a lengthy statement to Congress.
“It is a ‘gift’ to China and Russia,” the president added, without citing specific details.

Nancy Pelosi will have to call a session during Xmas break. If she does not, it will time out. It is called a "pocket veto". It is why Trump waited until the close of business (COB).
Pelosi has 10 days from now.
I hope the Dems get COVID while traveling in the airports. We know that many of them are not good at all about wearing masks. It be easier to list Democrat leaders, who wear masks, than to list the hypocrites.
Why is software bundling illegal, but the bundling unrelated items in a bill is not?
"Slack to Microsoft: Bundling Teams With Office Is an Antitrust Violation"
Fuckers in Congress are off the chain!
Does this mean Mexico's check for the wall cleared?
Keeping illegals out means less welfare paid and less remittances to Mexico. So yeah, Mexico paid. Western Union stock took a hit.
Mexico also put soldiers on their southern border preventing people from coming north. Mexican soldiers on the Mexican payroll.
If the power of POTUS to use the Insurrection Act is revoked, this would likeky hamstring not just Trump but future Presidents as well. After all knowing POTUS has this tool at his/her disposal has likeky deterred many would be coup plotters over the decades. The US had long been considered the most stable country on earth. Without this tool stability is undermined.
To strip POTUS of this valuable tool seems jaw droppingly shortsighted on the part of Congress. Why would they do this? There's no upside potential combined with much downside risk in doing so.
Maybe they are afraid Trump won't cede power even after all legal options are exhausted. This doesn't seem to make sense. We have been told repeatedly that Trump's claims are baseless. If this is so, he can invoke the Insurrection Act all he wants. The military and its leaders will simply ignore him!! So there seems no rational reason to undertake such a drastic measure as revoking the act unless they realize the claims of electoral fraud aren't as baseless as tgry are telling us. With that said it will be necessary to read the bill to verify the claims of Ms. Wood or anyone else.

8:03,
Whose trolling and what does Putin have to do with any of this? Perhaps the rrmark about Mexico's check clearing is "trolling" but I wouldn't take it that way. Besides 7:52 does a great job at addressing this.
If there's a problem, it helps to address it. Very respectfully "putin-esca trolling MF" doesn't contribute anything of value.
