* Newsweek spoke with six military figures who claim discussions are taking place about the possibility of Trump invoking martial law
* The President has previously denied that he would deploy military members to overturn the election results, describing it as 'fake news'
* But the military officials say 'there's no telling what he might do' and are discussing what they would do if it occurred
* They all say Trump would not have the backing of military generals should he decide to make the drastic move
* The report comes after the President reportedly discussed martial law during a meeting at the Oval Office last Friday
Military leaders are reportedly conducting high-level talks about what to do should President Trump invoke martial law during his remaining days in office.
President-elect Joe Biden is set to be sworn into office on January 20, but Trump is still challenging the results of the election and some say he could use the military in a last-minute bid to overthrow the results.
On Thursday, six retired military members spoke with Newsweek, confirming that the discussions are currently being conducted behind closed doors.

We know the war party in the US wants to continue Syria, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. There are small wars. The Balkans conflicts were small wars in the 3 years leading up to The Great War.
What makes the war party think that those small wars won't ignite into a conflag?

We've been told repeatedly that Trump's claims of electoral fraud are baseless. If this is truly the case, then such high level meetings among generals isn't necessary and wouldn't have happened. Of course Trunp would have no support. On the other hand, if the claims aren't baseless, then such high level meetings may become necessary for planning purposes and to ascertain where the various military leaders stand on this.
