Confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus eclipsed 90 million infections worldwide on Sunday, resulting in more than 1.9 million deaths to date, according to a Johns Hopkins University tally.
The United States, which surpassed 22 million cases on Saturday, accounts for roughly one-quarter of the global total, while India – the second-most infected nation – confirmed less than half the U.S. total on Sunday with nearly 10.6 million cases.
Brazil follows closely behind with nearly 8.1 million cases.
