Deadly South African Covid Variant Identified In The US For The First Time

 * Two people in South Carolina are the first US cases of the South African variant
 * Neither has a known history of travel or a link to the other, the state health department said Thursday   * South Africa's 501Y.V2 variant is thought to be about 50% more infectious
 * But it has mutations to the spike protein that Dr Fauci warned may make vaccines less effective against it
 * Pfizer and Moderna both found this week their shots are 'protective' against the variant but the protection may wane faster

Two South Carolina residents are the first Americans with the South African 'super covid' variant that may make vaccines less effective, state health department officials confirmed on Thursday.

Neither person has a 'known' recent history of travel and they have no evident connection to one another, as far as health officials can tell.

That's a worrying signal that the 50 percent more infectious variant has already been spreading silently in South Carolina, if not the broader US.

WNU Editor: The Best has arrived. This is why the South African variant is very dangerous .... Coronavirus variant sweeps South Africa, exhibiting ‘terrifying’ dominance (Washington Post). Bottom line. People who were infected in the first wave got infected with this variant. There are also concerns that vaccines will only be partially effective against this variant.

South Africa was hard hit with COVID?

So?

What does it mean?

Does it mean you can fuck and fuck to your hearts content, because there are drugs out there that will enable you to live to normal life expectancy?

Just because a drug can control a disease, does not necessarily let you off the hook. A drug that might make you resist one disease might make you more susceptible to other diseases, because it is hard on the liver or something else.

A lot of people have HIV in South Africa. A lot of people have AIDS drug to control it. Are all those people taking AIDS drug have fully tuned immune systems or have other systems up to snuff?

Has anyone studied it?

South Africa is a sick, sick country. It is not a shock that they hurting.

What about Britain? NHS would not tell us the truth if they had to. It is the country of inbreds due to first cousin marriage. Lo9t of people dying there from rare congenital brain diseases. I bet their immune system and other organs are in tippy top condition too!

I prefer it be called the Afrikaners strain, way less offensive...

Afrikaaners strain? So it is more prevalent in Cape Province?

I would expect it to be more prevalent perhaps in white slums than the general population.
