During Iranian Military Exercise Missiles Land Within 20 Miles Of A Commercial Ship And 100 Miles From The USS Nimitz Strike Group In The Indian Ocean

This photo released by the Revolutionary Guard purportedly shows Saturday's missile launch
Daily Mail: Iranian missiles land within 20 miles of a commercial ship and 100 miles from the USS Nimitz in Indian Ocean - but officials state that the launch wasn't seen as a threat

 * At least one missile landed 20 miles from the commercial vessel
 * American spy satellites did track the missile launch from the Islamic Republic, but it is unclear if the Nimitz aircraft carrier tracked the launch
 * Nimitz has been positioned in the northern Arabian Sea on President Trump's order through the inauguration
 * The Nimitz was ordered not to return home by the Pentagon this month, instead told to remain in the area
 * Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that its' long-range ballistic missiles fired off Saturday and flew over 1,000miles into the northern portion of the Indian Ocean

Long-range missiles from Iran splashed roughly 100miles from the Nimitz aircraft carrier, hitting close to a commercial ship in the Indian Ocean.

At least one missile landed 20 miles from the commercial vessel, according to anonymous U.S. officials who would not provide further info about the ship.

Iran does typically test missiles and one source did share with Fox News that the projectile did not cause alarm and was a fairly standard routine exercise.

Actually looking for something more like this from the UN.

No. 12214 - United Nations

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
and
UNION OF SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLICS

Agreement on the prevention of incidents on and over the high
seas. Signed at Moscow on 25 May 1972

https://treaties.un.org/doc/Publication/UNTS/Volume%20852/volume-852-I-12214-English.pdf

Article VI. Both Parties shall :
1. Provide through the established system of radio broadcasts of information
and warning to mariners, not less than 3 to 5 days in advance as a rule,
notification of actions on the high seas which represent a danger to navigation
or to aircraft in flight.

If Iran did not notify mariners (commercial, government or military), then if there missiles were intercepted. in their terminal phase, can they cry to the Secretary General?

100 miles makes it risky to shoot down because of public opinion. But if the missile was going to come down 20 or less miles from a carrier group, I think it should be shot down. It would be a good test of equipment. A successful shoot down would make the defensive deterrent credible. People could not say the 'test' was rigged.

- Shot down their rogue missile.
- Be as bellicose as they are
- Increase forces in the areas
- Watch Ayatollahs sit on their hands like a 1st grader, who has been scolded.
