* Biden’s transition team said it won’t lift the travel restrictions after Trump ordered they be lifted on Jan. 26, after he leaves office.
* Trump had banned most foreign visitors from Europe and Brazil early in the pandemic to curb the spread of the virus.
* Restrictions on visitors who have been in China and Iran are not included in the new order.
The incoming Biden administration on Monday said it won’t lift a entry ban on most visitors from Europe, the U.K. and Brazil, shortly after President Donald Trump ordered an end to the Covid-19 travel restrictions.
“With the pandemic worsening, and more contagious variants emerging around the world, this is not the time to be lifting restrictions on international travel,” tweeted President-elect Joe Biden’s spokeswoman Jen Psaki.

By the time the "variants" are detected it's already to late!! The current approach of "restrictions" has utterly failed and doubling down on it will only make matters worse.
Open up fully and DO IT NOW!! Doing this will get us to herd immunity much faster than the current approach. Add in an effective vaccine and competent distribution and we get there even faster!!
A mRNA seems like disaster waiting to happen. One should consider telephone or banking service. Therein lies your answer.
A simpler and correct approach is herd immunity, selected voluntary lockdowns/isolation of the vulnerable, regular vaccines and C, D, zinc and hydroxychloroquine.
Exposure to one type of corona virus gives you partial immunity to another in many cases. Going spastic about every variation is not wise.
Don't expect that to be reciprocal, our borders here in the UK are shut, and so they should be at this point in time
