National Interest: Joe Biden Must Protect Trump’s Iran Team from Tehran’s Retaliation
Biden needs to make clear on day one that any Iranian attempt to avenge Soleimani and Fakhrizadeh by targeting Trump administration veterans or, indeed, any American will be a casus belli.
On April 13, 1993, shortly after leaving office, President George H.W. Bush traveled to Kuwait in order to celebrate that country’s liberation from Iraqi occupation. Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, still smarting from defeat in the 100-hour ground war, saw an opportunity for revenge. The Iraqi plot allegedly involved using a car bomb to assassinate Bush. Fortunately, Kuwaiti security found the bomb and, the day before Bush’s arrival, arrested seventeen plotters. Forensic examination of the bomb’s circuity showed the Iraqi connection and so, on June 26, 1993, President Bill Clinton ordered a Tomahawk missile strike on Iraq’s intelligence headquarters.

Unfortunately. No word yet from the incoming Biden administration. And if President Trump is successfully impeached in the US Senate, he may find himself with no Secret Service protection.
This would be a disaster. It would send a green light to countries like Iran that these former Trump officials, President Trump included, are now fair game.
Update: Here is an easy prediction. A President Biden will never say publicly what President Trump said below when it comes to protecting American lives..

In my personal opinion I give it a 3% to 30% chance that the reconstituted Obama administration would not care.

How would it go down? They give give Trump standard protection irrespective of the threat level going up. In their minds if the Iranian get lucky, they get lucky, but Joe is too busy with his 100 days. It is the Lois Lerner play from their playbook. Someone of Joe's stature does not have to tell a subordinate to do something. They are sympatico.
Then they have the never let a crisis go to waste. They would argue that Trump was foolish and this is the result and we must sign the nuke treaty. They have been hitting alternative media really hard. If they can hide and spin the Hunter story long enough to swing the elections, they potentially could swing a propaganda campaign like this too.
