U.S. Homeland Security Uses Federal Alert System To Warn Of Domestic Terrorism

Daily Mail: DHS issues federal alert for the first time in a year to warn of heightened domestic terrorist threat in the weeks following the inauguration from 'extremists' who have been 'fueled by false narratives'

 * Acting Secretary of Homeland Security David Pekoske issued the threat bulletin Wednesday citing increased risk of domestic terrorism
 * Threat comes from 'ideologically-motivated extremists' who have been 'fueled by false narratives', the warning said
 * It warned lawmakers, government buildings, the electric, telecomms and healthcare sectors, and ethnic minority groups are among those at most risk
 * COVID-19 conspiracy theories were cited as a motivator among terrorists
 * It comes in the wake of the MAGA mob riot at the US Capitol that left five - including a Capitol cop dead - on January 6
 * Far-right extremist groups including white supremacists, neo-Nazis and Proud Boys were clearly visible among the mob
 * Top police chiefs resigned after the riot and the agency admitted this week it was completely unprepared despite being aware of potential violence
 * 25,000 National Guard troops were drafted in from all 50 states and a Baghdad-style 'Green Zone' perimeter was set up in DC for inauguration day
 * Army officials have confirmed more than 5,000 National Guard troops will remain in DC through mid-March amid concerns of lingering threats
 * Just over 48 hours after Biden took office, he ordered a 'comprehensive threat assessment' be carried out on extremism in the US

The Department of Homeland Security has issued a federal alert for the first time in a year to warn of a heightened domestic terrorist threat in the weeks following President Joe Biden's inauguration.

Acting Secretary of Homeland Security David Pekoske issued the threat bulletin Wednesday citing increased risk of domestic terrorism from 'ideologically-motivated extremists' who have been 'fueled by false narratives'.

WNU Editor: There is no specific threat. Homeland Security admits that there is no specific and credible threat at this time. Their decision is based on what they think may happen ....

.... “Information suggests that some ideologically motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence,” (Reuters)
