19FortyFive: Somalia Is Headed Towards Another Tragic Collapse
After more than $50 billion in foreign assistance, much U.S. provided, Somalia now faces its worst crisis since its collapse 30 years ago.
It has now been a week-and-a-half since President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo’s four-year-term presidential term ended.
Plans for elections collapsed after Farmajo (and U.S. Ambassador Donald Yamamoto) sought to stack the process.
Opposition politicians balked.
While Farmajo has refused to step down, a dwindling number of Somalis accept his legitimacy.
Wardheer News, one of Somalia’s leading and most reputable news sites, explained, “Farmajo not only failed to satisfy the oath of the office which compels to hold election prior to his term but…failed to carry out consultation with the opposition groups for the possible establishment of an agreed interim administration until a new parliament and a president is elected.”

What happened is Somalia is why I was against going into Darfur to protect the African Muslims from being enslaved and genocided by the neighboring Afro-Arab Muslims.
The problem would not be solved except for CNN, MSNBC and other MSMs ratings. News anchors and high profile reporters, who would never soldier in a place like Darfur, would constantly nit pick, second guess and criticize any American effort. The news anchors might have skin in the game fleetingly when they might bravely embed themselves for a day or three.
God Forbid that the USAF use a drone in Darfur to kill a warlord with a harem of Darfuri women and workforce of Darfuri child labor. No better to send 2 or 3 convoys out to capture him to try him in a US court and have the soldiers brave the IEDs. If several soldiers die, oh well!
A good wib will trot out Tennyson as if it were sound policy.
"Theirs is not to reason,
why theirs is to do or die."
Of course a news anchor would travel those same routes after US force traversed them several times a meat shields and mine detectors and have secured the area. Then the intrepid news anchors would take their selfies showing their bravery and high tail it back to the Beltway, where they will gravely tell viewers what to think.
Think of all the VOLAGS. They would do big business and be be very profitable for the white collar types bottom line. Democrats would figure what city they want to flip and settle the Darfuris there. You can never have too many Ilhan Omars.
Nothing like a campaign consultant grabbing the ass of a female representative in public.
