French President Emmanuel Macron is once again floundering as he struggles to placate starkly contrasting views on the coronavirus pandemic among the French electorate, giving the French people the impression that he is merely "reacting" to each new twist in the virus saga.
According to a series of recent polls highlighted by the FT earlier, Macron has seen his support - compared with that of his former second-round presidential rival Marine Le Pen, still the leader of the National Rally party - decline markedly since the start of the crisis.

WNU Editor: My friends in France are all upset with the lack of a Covid strategy. The lockdowns. A slow vaccination roll-out. 80 thousand dead. Little if any progress to curtail the pandemic. But France's political culture is very far left. A majority of the French electorate will not vote for Le Pen regardless on how bad French President Macron performs.

Just a quick comparison the US has 330 million people comapred to Frances 67 citizens or 4.9 times as much.
This compares 474,933 in US compared to 80,000 in France. The US has about 5.9 as many deaths.
Can't tell. if we are comparing apples to apples.

5.9 is ~ 120% of 4.9. So they are ballpark. One is not worse or better than the other seemingly. So Orange Man Bad and Macron are in the same boat.
What needed to be done is a 15 day shutdown at most, but with social distancing of elderly, early HCQ use at the 1st sign of symptoms and an aggressive vaccine roll out which Trump did,.

Tell me about that. France is an hidden USSR. The worse part is the Russian's didn't like communism but the French's like it! This country is completely hopeless and a danger for the West!
I have no sympathy for the French. If they keep voting for globalists who want to replace the indigenous population of France & Europe with cheap labour & keep the borders open during the pandemic then they will just have to live with the desease & the odd massacre & atrocity. Keep ducking 🙉
