Poll: Majority Of U.S. Voters Don't Want Billions Spent On New ICBMs

A Minuteman III missile receiving upgrade. U.S. AIR FORCE

With the new administration tasked with deciding America's future nuclear posture, a poll reveals dissatisfaction with the Air Force’s ICBM plans.

The U.S. Air Force continues to move ahead with plans to replace its LGM-30G Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles with the future Ground Based Strategic Deterrent, or GBSD, at a total cost of around $264 billion.

But, in the opinion of U.S. voters who responded to a recent poll, it’s not necessarily the right move and most of them think that alternative options should be pursued.

WNU Editor: The poll was done with an over-sampling of respondents in the states that house America's ICBM arsenal. The poll is here .... ICBM Information Project (FAS).

Before WWII American didn't want to spent any money on weapons. America ranked as the 17th army in the world. Well, the lesson is not learned.
