Russia And China To Sign Agreement To Cooperate On Building A Lunar Research Station

Russia opts for lunar project with China over continued cooperation with ISS partners beyond LEO 

HELSINKI — Russia is preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding with China to cooperate on a vision for an international lunar research station. 

“Roscosmos has completed domestic proceedings to harmonize the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of People’s Republic of China on cooperation to create the International Lunar Research Station,” Roscosmos Press Office told SpaceNews in an email.

Agreements start somewhere. The "memorandum of understanding" is a starting point. Nothing may come of it or something may come of it. It's not known at this time.

In any event it doesn't look good. Russia and China view America as their main enemy and arguably the world's two dominant space programs may be about to come together against us. If these talks have been going on since last year, this strongly suggests thar the parties are very interested in reaching an agreement.
