Communist Party leader Xi Jinping warned that the United States is the “biggest threat” to China’s security while touting the country’s economic outlook, proclaiming that “the East is rising and the West is declining,” according to a report on Wednesday.
“The biggest source of chaos in the present-day world is the United States,” Xi said, the New York Times reported. “The United States is the biggest threat to our country’s development and security.”
The report cited Xi’s remarks to a county official in northwest China, published on a government website.
