Deterring China from invading Taiwan is becoming increasingly complicated and tenuous as a result of Beijing’s growing military capabilities and its continued isolation of the self-governing island, regional experts are warning a congressional commission.
“Cross-strait deterrence is arguably weaker today than at any point since the Korean War,” said Oriana Skylar Mastro, a fellow at Stanford University’s Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies who specializes in Chinese military policy. She was speaking at a virtual hearing Feb. 18 before the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, which was examining U.S. deterrence policies aimed at preventing a future attack on Taiwan by Beijing.

WNU Editor: A lot can happen in 5 years. But I do not think a Chinese invasion of Taiwan will happen during those years. China does not have the logistics to pull it off, and will not for a long time.

End of the day, Taiwan is too cowardly to declare independance, therefore they have left the door open to China by staying committed to being part of China. Chinese soft power will keep weakening the country, will appoint supporters in its leadership and will undermine resistance. For now, i think the US tech given to Taiwan it too valuable to China in terms of stealing, reverse engineering and using themselves. Sooner or later, the Chinese people will make a play to dominate the world, with the world collecting DNA samples, think its just a matter of time before a targeted bioweapon is unrevealed that is highly racist.

Bit of a reminder
Summer 2019 - China was losing the trade war against the US publicly and very badly so. There was panic all over China, stocks crashing, businesses leaving for years and accelerating under Trump. Money left China in huge ways between 2018- late 2019.
Then around July- August Chinese people started openly discussing to remove Xi, who is emperor for life, ie they thought of ending his reign! (Discussing such matter means heavy prison sentence normally)
Then not even a month later, a novel virus befalls the Earth and devastated all economies except the Chinese.
