U.S. Admiral Nominated To Lead Pacific Operations Says The Navy Doesn't Need Another Carrier Right Now

Ships from the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group and the America Expeditionary Strike Group transit the South China Sea on March 15, 2020. (US Navy)

The U.S. has the number of aircraft carriers it needs to meet requirements across the globe -- unless "additional challenges show themselves," the four-star admiral nominated to oversee military operations in the Asia-Pacific region said.

The 11 aircraft carriers in the military's arsenal -- as currently required by law -- are what the force needs, Adm. John Aquilino said during a Tuesday Senate confirmation hearing.

Aquilino has been nominated to lead U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.

WNU Editor: Adm. John Aquilino knows that budget cuts/freezes are on the horizon. His focus is on building smaller ships, new technologies, and missiles .... lots of missiles.

YOUR hatred of women is amusing. This sort of thing has been done by men too but dismissed as unimportant!

The Navy needs more platforms to deliver long range fires which must include small carriers of F-35B's. Their 400 nm range plus missiles such as LRASM, JASSM, NSM and the new hyersonics in the pipleline can attack within a 700-800nm bubble.

You did not read the article did you? The author of the article was not against women in the military. The problem was lowering standards to get hit certain percentages in a certain time period.

Personally, I have served with women in the military since 1980. I have read that due to a lower center of gravity that perhaps women make better pilots and marksmen. My personal belief that women belong in the second line with the newer, better weaponry. I also believe that everyone should serve and be on call as reserves including paraplegics. With tech paraplegics could be drone pilots. Or they can be in intel. Waste nothing. As all wars since the start of the 20th century (really forever) have been total war and we have AI, there really isn't an option or a luxury to exclude women.

Now 11:44 take your skanky ass on a long walk on a short pier.
