Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Sunday sidestepped the issue of whether the US should punish China for its handling of the coronavirus.
Asked on CNN’s “State of the Union” if there would be any punitive action against China for the plague that has killed nearly 2.8 million people around the world — including almost 550,000 in the US — Blinken tried instead to steer the discussion to focus on international cooperation aimed at preventing another pandemic.

Washington views Russia as weak and China as strong. For public consumption DC (Democrats, RINOs and chickehawks) have to beat their chest from time to time. Picking on Albania won't work. It would make the US look like a bully. Instead they pick on Russia.
They assume short of a nuclear exchange they can kick Russia around, cow them, contain them or call them names with impunity.
Have any of these people ever attended a war game simulation. Have they attended two in a row, seen different results and asked what inputs changed? Have these people asked about the sensitivity of the outcome to various inputs/variables?
Maybe, if these people attended a few wargames they might be more respectful to Russia and yet still be tough?
Maybe they could attend a Fed stress test of banks?
