Covid-19 Hospitalizations Among Younger People Are Rising In The US

CNN: Covid-19 hospitalizations among younger people are rising in the US -- especially in one region

(CNN)The US just hit a record high of about 4.6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines reported administered in one day, according to data published Saturday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"Amazing Saturday! +4.63M doses administered over total yesterday, a new record," Dr. Cyrus Shahpar, the Covid-19 data director at the White House, wrote on Twitter. "More than 500K higher than old record last Saturday. Incredible number of doses administered."

The new record is great news -- but it comes at a complicated time in the pandemic for the US.

While Covid-19 vaccination numbers climb across the country, Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations are also on the rise, fueled by the B.1.1.7 variant, which is now the dominant strain in the US.

Experts say the variant is more contagious, may cause more severe disease and is also potentially more deadly.

Wearing masks could save at least 14,000 Americans from dying of COVID-19 by August - but death toll could reach 697,573 if vaccinated people return to 'pre-pandemic levels of mobility', model predicts (Daily Mail).

Vaccinating the entire human population at once with multiple untested gene therapies that have no long term studies.

PSYCHOPATHS!

Or.... Alien invasion
Or.... the start of almost every zombie or end of day movie

And... if you believe the lie it came from a food market, then you almost deserve it, perhaps.

Vaccinating an entire population with an untested vaccine does seem strange. I'm not willing to go to the level you seem to be. At least not yet!!

The article WNU Editor links to is the reality. This has actually been the driving force in why I've had my first shot and will have the second one soon. Pretty soon we'll be unable go do basic things like feed our families without proof of vaccination.

I would suggest not waiting until the requirement is fully implemented. At that point everyone who held our based on principle, will face long wait lists in the mad rush to get vaccinated. This could mean the loss of livelihood or life as basic services are denied the unvaccinated.

Essentially the only viable option is going to be get vaccinated and pray it's safe and effective. I wish I had better news. For better or worse reality doesn't care what we think or feel.
