Iran Reports 'Electrical Incident' At Natanz Nuclear Site

 

The National: Iran's underground nuclear lab hit by power cut after new centrifuge installed 

The incident comes a day after Iran said it had installed new, faster centrifuges at the site Iran’s Natanz nuclear site suffered power problems on Sunday just hours after starting up new advanced centrifuges, state TV reported. 

The incident involved the electrical distribution grid at the site and is the latest in a string of issues to befall Iran’s most secure nuclear development site. 

“Fortunately, the incident has not caused any human damage or contamination,” a state TV anchorwoman quoted Behrouz Kamalvandi, a spokesman for Iran’s civilian nuclear programme, as saying.

“The cause of the incident is under investigation.”
