Pepe Escobar, The Asia Times: Ukraine Redux - War, Russophobia, & Pipelineistan
The deep state/NATO combo's using Kiev to start a war to bury Nord Stream 2 and German-Russian relations... Ukraine and Russia may be on the brink of war – with dire consequences for the whole of Eurasia.
Let’s cut to the chase, and plunge head-on into the fog of war. On March 24, Ukrainian President Zelensky, for all practical purposes, signed a declaration of war against Russia, via decree No. 117/2021.
The decree establishes that retaking Crimea from Russia is now Kiev’s official policy. That’s exactly what prompted an array of Ukrainian battle tanks to be shipped east on flatbed rail cars, following the saturation of the Ukrainian army by the US with military equipment including unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic warfare systems, anti-tank systems and man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS).

WNU Editor: Over the years I have found Pepe Escobar to be one of the best when it comes to analyzing foreign tensions and future conflicts. I hope he is wrong in his analysis on the current tensions that exist between Russia and Ukraine. But his information on Russian capabilities and concerns is spot on, and his analysis on Ukraine President Zelensky and his policies are accurate. He is also correct that many in Ukraine are now predicting that the current conflict in the eastern part of the country will escalate into open warfare in May, something that this blog has also been predicting for the past few weeks.

Stammering, clubfooted Claudius needs a Triumph.
The left. Warmongering, virtue signalling, racist, perverted, corrupt, criminal lunatics.
But orange man bad.
They cheer"tired of winning yet" just to make a point. But they don't get that under Trump the US was winning, GDP record growths, best employment for all people...
And now..
War
Corruption
Weak leadership
Division
Unrest
They cheer on their own destruction. Unbelievable..

Like it or not: there is an agreement between Russia and USA for a "denuclearized Ukraine" which said Russia and America are the "guaranty" for the Ukraine territory integrity. Well, obviously Russia break that under the "marvelous' Obama presidency.
Now, the claim of Ukraine for having back its integrity is not a declaration of war but a really justified one.
I'm scared of Iraq, Syria and Iran. America should bomb them so freedom will ring.
It'll work out great.
I'm scared of Iran, North Korea, Syria, China, Somalia, Ukraine, Chechnya, Georgia, and any other place that doesn't worship capitalism, democracy, or its current flavour corporate government medical tyranny/fascism. We should bomb each other.
It'll work out great.
Trump was the one who pushed to send military hard ware to Ukraine angering the Russians. Don’t blame the left because this at this point has nothing to do with our politics, rather showing solidarity with the people of Ukraine against the Russians

Exactly, the U.S owes Ukraine
Take Ukraine in 6 hours , lol. More like never, a brigade would be nowhere near enough.
Fazman,
The US owes Ukraine NOTHING. There's no upside benefit to the US coupled with huge downside risks to America. Combine this with a corrupt chump Ukrainian political system and government.
When we end up in a shooting war, there are numerous ways this can go awry. If we are going to place American heads on the chopping block there better be a VERY GOOD reason for it. Ukraine doesn't qualify we owe them NOTHING. Certainly not the 10s of millions of American lives that are already at risk and would be at even greater risk on the event of an escalation of this conflict.
As an Aussie, your country is not at risk. Perhaps this makes it easier to lecture us. If Ukraine is so important to you, go to Ukraine, join the military, and fight!! Strap it on!!
"Combine this with a corrupt chump Ukrainian political system and government."
Name a government of a significant country that is not corrupt?
China?
Russia?
USA?
Germany?
France?

Amy endeavor that involves humans will involve a degree of corruption. As for Ukraine, it's level of corruption seems WAY above normal. The editor of this site has done a great job documenting this. Additionally an Ernst & Young study in 2017 ranked Ukraine ninth most in the world.
I believe my analysis to he sound. There's no national interests in Ukraine, the project carries with it huge downside risks, large costs, and no upside potential. Add in the rampant corruption and it should seal the deal so to speak.
Perhaps the whole purpose of the project is to enrich people like the Bidens, associates of Mitt Romney, and God only knows how many other unscrupulous US officials. In my considered opinion, these are traitors who have sold us out.
Now, as we can agree, all countries will have a degree of corruption. Ranking these in order based upon the countries you've listed is going to be problematic for me as the only one I have direct familiarity with is my home country of the United States.
With that said it's hard to imagine the mind blowing corruption that runs rampant in the US. As the editor likes to say, "here's an easy prediction." America easily tops the list. Now to rank 2 to 5 will be much more difficult.
Based upon my analysis that I believe to be thorough and over many years I would go with mostcorrupt to least on this list:
2.) Germany
3.) France
4.) China
5.) Russia
At a minimum, America shouldn't be lecturing anyone about "democracy" and "freedom." Furthermore I would suggest we withdraw from most if not all foreign military commitments and focus on fixing our own problems which are far more severe than any of the countries you list.
Study Sargonic and the Ottoman example. that is really reason enough to oppose the Russians.
You are quite a Russian shill, are you not poster.
I'm not a Russian shill. If you read the posts properly, you'd know this. On the contrary, I understand how dangerous they can be. Provoking a major world power without justification or on pursuit of a necessary American interests seems unwise.
The Ottoman and Sargoonic examples may be worthy of study. While history doesn't repeat itself, it is said to often "ryhme." As such, extreme caution needs to be taken when applying past models to the present. Very respectfully you don't seem to be someone who applies caution to anything. You seem rather reckless abd and impulsive. As such I don't dismiss your analysis outright but I do treat them with extreme caution.
Perhaps we do need to oppose Russia. If so, we're going to need allies. We have none. The current assortment of users, abusers, and gtifters don't count and have negative utility. Furthermore western Europe is heavily dependent on Russian oil and the German economy especially is so tied into Russia that they can't and won't help us.
A bit off topic but the Trump Administration seemed to believe as many do that China is the main threat. Russia has some interests that appear to be incompatible with China and may lead to conflict at some point. With this I'm mind While they opposed Russia on moral grounds they sought to leave the door open for improved relations understanding the necessity of having a powerful ally in the confrontation with China. Think "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" or WW2. After all history does Perhaps rhyme.
Perhaps the analysis is off. If taking a nuanced position in trying to represent American interests makes me a Russian "shill," in pushing for a conflict with a major world power where no American interests are involved that endangers the lives of 10s of millions of Americans Perhaps this makes you a psychopath. I do hope not.
