Daily Mail: Beijing divides and rules: New Zealand backs out of 'Five Eyes' intelligence network's 'China-watch' over fears it will hit country's trade partnership

 * NZ's foreign minister said Wellington 'uncomfortable' with pressuring Beijing

 * Five Eyes alliance last year started issuing statements condemning China

* NZ had agreed to 'advance their shared values of democracy, freedom, respect'

* China claims Five Eyes is ganging up on it over rights abuses which it denies

* The prospect of New Zealand being expelled from the Five Eyes network was raised by a former CIA China expert in 2018 speaking before a committee

New Zealand has said it will no longer confront China over human rights as part of the 'Five Eyes' intelligence network, reversing an earlier commitment to its allies.

Foreign minister Nanaia Mahuta said New Zealand was 'uncomfortable' with pressuring Beijing and wanted to pursue its own relationship with its largest trading partner.

The intelligence sharing alliance, formalised during the Cold War, last year began issuing statements condemning China's human rights record.

Typical progressive coward. The NZ government should not be trusted with any sensitive information generated by five eyes. China is its new master.

Look like China just found its next location for a deep water port.

China is forwarding as USSR did. How to stop it as we did with USSR?

The political core in NZ is gone, party divides seem to have vanished and the notion of the day is 50% woman representation and a minoirty Maori group jumping into bed with China because of their hatred for white people brought about their pathetic loser culture based on racial hate and idea they own the land.

Five eyes would do well to cut NZ loose, with intelligence feeding into the NZ Police an organization that has been sanctioned in the past for only hiring Migrants, who likewise have trained with the Chinese.

NZ is run by a dictator, one that, well you wouldn't believe me as well im deep behind enemey lines running recon missions.

As someone on the ground in NZ, I can say that no-one supports this position. It’s politics.
Labour is repeating the same mistakes as under Clarke: social engineering, race backed policies etc.
but NZ has changed since those days.
There’s a lot more migrants who won’t put up with it.
NZ will remain with 5 Eyes.
