WASHINGTON — The head of U.S. forces in the Middle East said Thursday he is concerned that the Afghan military will collapse after U.S. and foreign troops leave the war-torn country.

Marine Gen. Kenneth McKenzie’s remarks come on the heels of President Joe Biden’s April 14 announcement that he will withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan by Sept. 11, ending America’s longest war.

Afghan forces, he said, have gotten used to the support from U.S. and other nations’ militaries over several years.

So, nobody can change a country. That's why meddling in civil war is stupid.

France and Spain meddled in a civil war. It was called the America Revolution.

The citizens of Havana met the payroll of the Continental Army. Important? A Spanish general reduced British forts on the Gulf Coast and Mississippi Valley. The French provided a Fleet to bottle up the British to keep a British Army out of supply. The French provided 90% of the gunpowder.

Purpleslog,

You comment is quite sarcastic, but I agree with it 100%. The Afghan army is collapsing even while we are there. They keep losing towns and territory. We get towns back like Kunduz, but other we have not.
