Zero Hedge: Ukraine Demands "More Weapons, More Money, More Support To Join NATO" From Biden
Naturally, a CNN camera crew was in tow for last week's visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to an area near Mariupol in Donetsk where he "walked the front line with the troops" amid renewed fighting with Russian-backed separatists in the eastern Donbass region.
Days later CNN's homepage dramatically hyped the story with a recent headline of "Ukraine's President runs for cover on front line against Russia" .
The story kicks off with: "Ankle-deep in thick black sludge, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky moves stealthily with his troops in single file through the warren of trenches and tunnels that form the tense front lines in the east of his country."

WNU Editor: It is mostly money that Ukrainian President Zelenskiy wants. And he wants/needs tens of billions ASAP.
Case in point.
The money that Ukraine earns from Russian natural gas exports to Europe will end when the Nord Stream pipeline II becomes operational .... which should be later this year. That $3 billion annual gas transit fee is a huge amount of money for Ukraine: it’s 2% of the Ukrainians GDP, or 7% of the state budget. That is going to hurt. This will also end the siphoning of natural gas from Russia, that I have been told is about 10% to 15%.
And then there are the other costs and the need for immediate U.S. aid.
A decaying infrastructure. The massive migration of young people. Capital flight. High unemployment. A negative GDP (link here). Social and health problems brought about by the pandemic. And the forever war in eastern Ukraine. Cannot forget about that.
Does America want to send money to a country that is one of the most corrupt in the world?
I don't think so.
Will joining NATO make a difference. According to one poll that I saw last year the majority of Ukrainians in eastern and southern Ukraine are against this membership (link here). Not a promising sign.
And as for weapons. In a country that is already heavily armed. Sending even more advanced and deadlier weapons will not change the dynamics on the ground. It will only make the situation worse.

Americans surely don't, but the U.S has already sunk trillions into Afghanistan, so why not a few more into Ukraine?
Exactly, and weapons like javelin and smart long range artillery definitely do change the equation on the ground, making the cistvof a Russian incursion unpalatable.
Money saved in Afghanistan can be spent in Ukraine. Taliban unburdened by fighting can send Imans to Kazakhstan and the other stands or maybe even Kazan.
