Daily Mail: China's chilling warning: Australia will be the 'first hit' if the 'insignificant' nation meddles in Chinese conflicts - as Beijing boasts of ballistic missiles which can reach Down Under

 * Chinese propaganda articles says Australia will be 'first hit' in Taiwan conflict

 * Beijing warned that Australia is in range of intermediate-range ballistic missiles

 * The tirade comes as Australian forces wrap up war games in East China Sea

Australia's military is 'weak,' 'insignificant' and will be the 'first hit' in any potential conflict over Taiwan, Chinese propagandists have warned.

The chilling message in the Communist Party mouthpiece, the Global Times, comes as Australian naval forces completed war game exercises with the US, France and Japan held between May 11 and 17 in the East China Sea.

The first ever training drill between the four nations called Exercise Jeanne d'Arc 21 - or ARC21 - practiced amphibious assaults, urban warfare and anti-aircraft defence - and was met with fury by Beijing.

Bottom line: China is only threatening the one he can overcome. Short sighted, if Australia is targeted its allied will make China the first hit too.

I've said this several times on this subject matter. The Chinese do not fear the Aussie's because they surrendered their personal firearms. Sure China can shoot their planes down or sink their ships but no country will try and invade another if their millions of people are in possession of high powered rifles. That is why the US will never be invaded. It has to be conquered from within.

Just because some nut does a mass killing in your country, it doesn't mean your enemies disappear. I pity those fools in New Zealand also. They better learn how to bow.

The Japanese had both of these countries in their sights for invasion. The Japs would have learned a hard lesson because New Zealanders and Aussies were a well armed populace back then. it would have been very different then invaded China where the peasants had sticks.

It’s a bit more complicated than that Ron mate. If it gets to the point where we are using bang sticks at close range whole world is in strife. think of the supply lines needed to invade aus. For what benefit? Australia taking damage looking likely but invade not a chance. Will the world stand by while this long supply line tries to find dug in aussies. Gladly strike the alphabet people and politicians in the cities but at the same time every Australian city is packed full of Chinese people. And if it did go to the dark ages and back to the ol close range most aussie blokes can shoot and plenty of old war storage available. 303 rifles buried hidden all over the country also. Most fellas that think like you only handed in what was licenced. Left over 303 dime a dozen not handed in

You can keep all your guns Ron. At least we can walk the streets in safety. I've travelled the US a lot and conditions in half the USA are 3rd world. This 5th amendment rubbish is nonsense and bit outdated. You guys will end up having a civil war before a real war, good luck with that.

Turfy77,

I have traveled to 48 or 50 states. I have lived in the 3rd world. 1/2 the US is 3ed world? Really? Democrats are really trying, I'll give them that, but they have not made 1/2 or even a 3rd of the US 3rd world. But Dems are really trying.

This 5th amendment rubbish is nonsense and bit outdated?

"the Fifth Amendment guarantees the right to a grand jury, forbids "double jeopardy," and protects against self-incrimination."

Do you mean 2nd amendment?

Seems to me the Hutu did real good killing Tutsi. If I recall correctly 1/2 the Hutu had machetes and 1/2 had guns. If 100% of the Hutu had had machete would the killing have been any less?

Guns are an object, people are the killers.

"Cash Gernon's father says he paid the 'ultimate price' for leaving twin sons with his ex-girlfriend while he skipped town to avoid a court appearance for drug possession"

Best part ... there were no guns involved.
