Israel and Hamas Ceasefire Still Holding With Both Sides Claiming Victory

France 24: Israel and Hamas both claim victory as fragile ceasefire ends 11 days of fighting

Israel and Hamas both claimed victory on Friday after their forces ended 11 days of fighting, but a clash between Israeli police and Palestinian protesters in Jerusalem underscored the fragility of the truce.

Egypt, which mediated the pre-dawn end to the worst hostilities between Israelis and Palestinians in years, discussed measures to avoid a resumption of the militant rocket attacks from Gaza on Israel and Israeli strikes on the enclave.

The Gaza violence was set off on May 10 in part by Israeli police raids on the al-Aqsa mosque compound and clashes with Palestinians during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Thousands gathered there again for this Friday's prayers, with many staying on to demonstrate in support of Gaza.

I saw some of that "victory" on the Hamas end. If that's victory, I'll take the opposite every time.

BTW - nobody gives a damn about the so called Palestinians. Not Syria, Not UAE, not Saudi Arabia, not Egypt and not Jordan. They couldn't care less about them - based on their actions more so than their words.

Iran is their sole benefactor. Good luck with that.

Well no - count in the rabid US Dem reps and constituencies populating certain decrepit US urban districts. Which always somehow manage to reside within deep Blue Dem cities. Every single time.

Hamas accept a cease Fire only for being reorganized. What to expect from Hamas which want the destruction of Israel?

Noted prior to the cessation that both sides (save face) need to be able to proclaim victory.
