Texas Celebrates Zero COVID-19 Daily Deaths Two Months After Reopening And Lifting Mask Mandate

Texas recorded zero COVID-19 fatalities on Sunday for the first time since it began tracking deaths from coronavirus. The state has defied expectations with Covid deaths declining consistently since January despite lifting its mask mandate

New infections have stayed consistently low for the past two months, with just 388 recorded on Sunday - the least in 13 months

Daily Mail: Not so 'Neanderthal' now! Texas celebrates zero COVID-19 daily deaths two months after reopening and lifting mask mandate - which Biden called 'Neanderthal thinking'

* Texas on Sunday recorded zero new Covid deaths for the first time since it began tracking data on the virus in March 2020

 * It comes just two months after the state reopened on March 2, 2021, with Governor Abbott lifting the state's mask mandate

* President Biden slammed the decision at the time as 'Neanderthal thinking'

* The U.S. recorded fewer than 17,000 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday for the first time since the pandemic took hold in America in March 2020

* The seven-day rolling average of Covid deaths increased slightly to 602, after falling below 600 on Saturday

Texas on Sunday recorded zero new Covid deaths for the first time since it began tracking data on the virus in March 2020 and new cases in the Lone Star State hit a 13-month low.

It comes just two months after the state reopened, drawing sharp criticism from public health officials and President Biden, who called Republican Governor Greg Abbott's executive order lifting all restrictions 'Neanderthal thinking.'

Despite those concerns, new infections and deaths have fallen steadily in Texas since the state reopened on March 2.

My new thinking on this pandemic is you have a certain population lets say 25-30% that is going to be at high risk of infection, spread. The age of this group is not as important, but would probably be most represented in the 20-50 year old range. For the first 12 months of the pandemic, this group would take the majority of infections, both symptomatic and asymptomatic. Going off the herd immunity from antibodies theory, you have to not look at the population as a whole, but the group that is driving the spread of the virus. At some point the virus will start running out of bodies to occupy within this spreader group, and combine that with vaccinating the older population and the other 30+% that still are using some cautioning or getting vaccinated, you start getting the natural fall off without the 75-80% vaccination rate that we seem to be chasing after.

Having been established as the GOP’s undisputed ruler, Trump is encountering some of the headaches and tensions common to all autocrats. The first and most obvious is the lack of a clear succession principle. In 2020, the party proudly defined itself as an organization devoted to Trump, forgoing the creation of a party platform beyond ‘We ❤ Trump.’ No wonder other notables who would seem to have their own independent bases of support, like Nikki Haley and Sen. Mitch McConnell, can’t bring themselves to quit him, and dissidents like Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger face de facto excommunication. How could any of them make a claim to become the new leader of the party if the party only exists to serve the current leader? Because actively opposing Trump is impossible, Republicans with presidential ambitions have no choice but to ingratiate themselves with him in the hope of gaining an advantageous position in the squabble for his endorsement should he choose not to run.

Another issue common to both authoritarian regimes and the Trump-era Republican party is the paucity of trustworthy, honest information. Most autocrats struggle to figure out who is telling them the truth and who is a yes-man—the incentives of lower-level officials to inflate their success to their superiors are infamous. Trump embraces the problem, eschewing anyone who dares to give him bad news.

And then, of course, there’s the brain drain. One of the problems of strangling and restricting a society for political expediency is that there are always other options. The people with the most human capital—extraordinary abilities, intelligence, skills, etc.—are the most likely to defect. The Soviet Union and its allies leaked talent at an extraordinary rate. Judging by how many former Republican luminaries have publicly broken with Trump, the Republican party, or both, its brain drain could be even quicker.

The GOP’s Telltale Signs of Authoritarianism

"Having been established as the GOP’s undisputed ruler, Trump is encountering some of the headaches and tensions common to all autocrats..."

Why would someone desperately post propaganda by the discredited Lincoln Project four time in four separate blogposts. Is it a cry for help?

The Lincoln project was cofounded by a pedophile and a back stabber.

Remember the peeps, who said :If trump gets elected he is going to start a war?". Or the peeps who said he would never leave the White House voluntarily? Same peeps are now telling us he is a dictator. Lib-Logic!

I don’t want to alarm anyone, but apparently, the latter days of the former administration* fall somewhere between bedlam and the House of Usher. The former president* was scaring the daylights out of the uniformed military, and the attorney general was spending out money chasing internet hecklers. From Axios:

The one-page memo was delivered by courier to Christopher Miller's office two days later, on the afternoon of Nov. 11. The order arrived seemingly out of nowhere, and its instructions, signed by Trump, were stunning: All U.S. military forces were to be withdrawn from Somalia by Dec. 31, 2020. All U.S. forces were to be withdrawn from Afghanistan by Jan. 15, 2021. What the fuck is this? Miller wondered.

It was not the first time that question was asked over the preceding four years.

The relatively low-profile Miller had first met Trump as an NSC counterterrorism adviser on Oct. 26, 2019 — the night of the special operations raid that killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. A request by the commander in chief to lead the Pentagon was not something that Miller, a U.S. Army veteran, felt he could turn down, despite pleas from his family and friends. Miller told associates he had three goals for the final weeks of the Trump administration: #1: No major war. #2: No military coup. #3: No troops fighting citizens on the streets.

Lofty goals in a democracy.

Meanwhile, across town, Bill Barr was tasking the DOJ to find out the names of people who were mocking Rep. Devin Nunes on the electric Twitter machine. The DOJ issued a subpoena to Twitter to flush these miscreants into the open.

Given Congressman Nunes’s numerous attempts to unmask his anonymous critics on Twitter—described in detail herein—Twitter is concerned that this Subpoena is but another mechanism to attack its users’ First Amendment rights. Recent litigation also alleges that Congressman Nunes may be using the government to unmask his critics.

We are lucky that the Republic survived—for a while, anyway. The same can truly be said for all of us.

"who said Trump would not leave the white house?

All the sycophant media read by semi-illiterate barbarians such as yourself.

"If Donald Trump Refuses to Leave the White House, Secret Service Will Escort Him Out"

- Newsweak

The News weak coverage is typical of the Leftwing, hysterical press.
