Did This G7 Summit Mattered?

A display by the RAF's Red Arrows captivated the G7 leaders

Laura Kuenssberg, BBC: G7 summit: Has this been a meeting that mattered?

I wondered a few days ago if this summit would be what one government veteran described as "waffleage", or if it would be a meeting that mattered.

Well, this year's G7 has for all sorts of different reasons - not just because we got a glimpse of how some of the most powerful people in the world mingle when on the beach, the image of Angela Merkel inspecting the mackerel at the barbecue, or the very carefully choreographed images of the prime minister's new wife and their one-year-old son Wilfred.

Big promises have been made - on vaccines, in particular - although there are gaps in the detail of how the vows will actually be kept.

WNU Editor: IMHO it is always a good sign to see world leaders meeting even if nothing of substance is implemented. In this G7 summit the announcement of providing one billion vaccines to the undeveloped world is probably the only measure that will occur.

The world leaders seeing how mentally befuddled Joe Biden is will not be good for any of us. Seeing with your own eyes that Joe Biden is in serious mental impairment hits home where reports can't.

Putin will see it too and Putin will tell Xi. Biden in a crisis will be useless. A fractious team behind him won't make timely decisions. They won't take risks or be bold. Xi and Putin have a dream come true if they want to act and gain territory.

The synopsis on the Osama Raid was that Obama was decisive while Biden was not. If Biden were in charge and had his mental faculties, would it make a difference?

Is being beige, being wishy washy a possible reward for being a life long plagiarist?

I, for one, resent being forced to pay for these people and their image building efforts.
