NATO Chief Jens Stoltenberg Warns Of 'New Dangers' From Growing Russia-China Ties

Growing political and military cooperation between Russia and China poses “new dangers” for NATO and threatens multilateralism, the head of the military alliance said in an interview published Tuesday (8 June). 

“The rules-based order, the basis of multilateralism, is under threat,” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told Italy’s La Repubblica newspaper. 

“Russia and China have been cooperating more and more recently, both at a political and a military level".

This is a new dimension and a serious challenge for NATO. New dangers are arising. “Moscow and Beijing are increasingly coordinating their respective positions in decisions taken in multilateral organisations like the UN."

WNU Editor: Russia and China have many mutual interests. They also must work together because of their shared border. But does it raise to the level that the NATO chief is saying a major threat? IMHO the answer is no.

Not sure. In case of "independent" wars: China-USA in one hand and Russia-Ukraine in the other hand, Beijing and Moscow know that America has not the means for a 2 front lines. Success will be easier.

No shit Sherlock. Jackanape Jens Stoltenberg is catching onto what Orange Man Bad knew 4 or 5 years ago. There must be some way to carrot and stick Russia onto the US side and the way Congress is doing it is not the way.
