President Joe Biden will hold a solo press conference after his meeting with Vladimir Putin next week, denying the Russian president the opportunity to stand by him and answer questions from the press.
A joint press conference is traditional when two world leaders meet and President Donald Trump held one with Putin when the two men met in Helsinki in July 2018.
It was an indication both of the administration's reluctance to grant Putin yet another prominent platform in addition to the summit itself - as well as a reluctance on the part of the White House to put Biden in an unscripted situation that could go off the rails.

WNU editor: This breaks protocol. In the past a joint news conference always occurred after a summit.
The media narrative is that President Biden does not want to give Russian President Putin a platform that will give him a lot of media attention. As if the summit that the Biden administration requested does not give Putin a lot of attention.
I am willing to bet that the real reason why there is no joint news conference, as pointed out by the above Daily Mail post, is a reluctance on the part of the White House to put President Biden in an unscripted situation that could go off the rails.

She is smart after all. She has a doctorate. Her thesis was on nontraditional students commuting to community colleges. She sent out a score or two score of surveys. Ground breaking stuff.

On the one hand Putin could wind up Biden & make a fool out of him during the joint press conference. As Putin appears to be wiser than the west's political leaders, I think that he would be restrained & respectful to Biden. Its in Russia & China's best interests to have Biden in the White House for as long as possible. I do not think America can boast a "Good" government anymore. Our government IS spying on us, the media is actually the government. We see gross examples of propaganda and lying. the justice system protects those Democrats in power.
Economically, the Government is hurting us. it is the enemy by its policies. The American Government is dividing us and destroying our once great culture. Biden is now at the head of that.
Putin and Russia has some of the same problems but Putin is not trying to destroy the rich Russian Culture, he is protecting it. He sees the disaster of the American dollar and is preparing his country for its collapse. The Russian economy is strengthening. They have a small debt problem compared to the west and China.
