I consider Macron lucky in that he was only slapped and not tarred and feathered by the French. Or run out on a rail.
Macron has desired to impoverish hundreds of his political opponents which accomplishes has the same effect as jailing them. It seems nicer and legit, but it is just the velvet glove rather than the iron fist.
Macron is just lucky that he is pulling his shit in the 21st century and not before 1990 or 2000.
