* Afghan officials said the US didn't coordinate the withdrawal with them. The US military denies this.
* Looters stole laptops and gas canisters.
It's not a good sign for the future of Afghanistan.
Within hours of the US withdrawal from Bagram - the largest air base in Afghanistan and the longtime hub of America's longest war - looters rolled in.
The looters stole laptops and gas canisters from the base, said Darwaish Raufi, a district administrator for Bagram, The New York Times reported.
Raufi said the US withdrawal from the base was done overnight and not in coordination with local officials.
"Unfortunately the Americans left without any coordination with Bagram district officials or the governor's office," Raufi said, the Associated Press reported.
"Right now our Afghan security forces are in control both inside and outside of the base."

The local security was not told for operational security reasons. Basically, they snuck out in the middle of the night.
The Taliban might hold the 600+ soldiers left in Afghanistan like the Iranian hostages. It is not a given, but a possibility. The soldier are not going to willy nilly give themselves up, but they might be put into an Alamo situation.

Karach9o to Kabul is about 1,400 km.
Is is 1 or 2 hours from the sea to Bagram assuming the Pakistanis allow them overflight or do not shoot them down. Pakistan might not be able to shoot them down. Maybe, but it might cause them to waste fuel, time or ordinance.
Democrats, Obama 3.0, are not real good at sending relief as shown by Behghazi.

The American soldiers would be brave enough, but do they have heavy weapons like mortars and do they have artillery and air support. They do not. But the Taliban will have heavy weapons. Without heavy weapons I cannot see the American holding out long.
Would the Taliban do it? I think not. But if they were 90% sure that Pakistan would allow no overflight or free passage by ground, who knows.
Suppose Taiwan kicked off. I would not give long odds on the 600+. They are not the 10,000.
Would the Taliban and China coordinate? Did the Huns and the Persians coordinate?
But remember Milley and Austin believe CRT is a priority.
