Middle East Eye: Defying Egypt and Sudan, Ethiopia confirms second filling of Nile dam
The dam has been the source of an almost decade-long diplomatic stand-off between Ethiopia and downstream nations Egypt and Sudan
Ethiopia said on Monday that it had hit its second-year target for filling a colossal dam on the Blue Nile River, a tributary of the Nile, that has stoked tensions with downstream countries Egypt and Sudan.
"The first filling already was done last year. The second one is already done today. So today or tomorrow, the second filling will be announced," an official told AFP, adding that there is now enough water stored to begin producing energy.
Water Minister Seleshi Bekele later confirmed the milestone, which officials had earlier predicted would come in August.

I would be hard pressed to describe Ethiopia
as a good neighbor, considering the dam and it's filling.
I would think in terms of a war in the future over this dam and it's impact on it's neighbors.
This will not finish well.
I do not see why from here on out the dam could not be filled periodically with only a 10% cut in flow.
Maybe Mama Merkel could reach deep into her pockets, which are pretty deep as she is the largest German Prim Minister ever (whatever that means) according to Joe Biden (maybe he like his women big?) and she can pay the difference for a year or two in the loss of wheat or economic out put for Egypt.
Das Merkel like to brag that Germany's diplomatic and foreign aid is on a par with military spending to rebuke Trump. So let the bitch show us.
So 3 comments and the 1st one by a troll? Apparently, as usual, no one gives a shit about Africa.
