The United States on Tuesday carried out an airstrike in Somalia against the extremist group al-Shabaab.

In a statement, Defense Department spokeswoman Cindi King said that U.S. Africa Command forces conducted a single airstrike against al-Shabaab near Galkayo, Somalia.

King said the airstrike was carried out to support Somali National Army troops who were under attack by al-Shabaab fighters.

No U.S. forces accompanied the Somalis during the operation, but they were remotely advising and assisting from another unidentified location, she added.

"For The First Time In His Presidency The Biden Administration Launches Airstrikes Against al-Shabaab In Somalia"

Why do air strikes have to be approved by the White House? In a war should not military commanders approve air strikes? Oh right, Congress never approved of a war.

We're back to the LBJ era of the president playing soldiers using sand tables in the White House.

In WW2 did the air force get permission to launch their planes?

Differences between Afghanistan and Somalia are

- Kenya and Ethiopia are not providing sanctuary for Al Shabaab.
- Kenyan and Ethiopian Intel services are not providing intel, training or supplies for Al Shabaab.

- In Somalia we do not have to pay a $100 tax per truck load to get supplies into Somalia on top of normal cartage

Similarities between Afghanistan and Somalia are:

- There is no plan to win.

“All imams and mullahs in captured areas should provide the Taliban with a list of girls above 15 and widows under 45 to be married to Taliban fighters,”

- Taliban’s Cultural Commission for Islamic preachers

"The Taliban has promised to marry these women to their fighters and take them to Pakistan’s Waziristan. There, these women will be converted to Islam and reintegrated."

On other news Liberals are putting in work by watching the Handmaid's Tale and denouncing the patriarchy in the US.

Is the Taliban using Pakistan as a welcome mat or did Pakistan provide Waziristan gratis?
